🆕 Reincarnate Participated in the Networking Meeting – LIFE and the Construction and Demolition Waste The LIFE Programme Networking Meeting, held online on October 15-16, 2024, gathered various EU-funded projects, industry experts, and policymakers to exchange insights on reducing, reusing, and recycling construction and demolition waste #CDW. Reincarnate was featured on day one, where Samaneh Rezvani from DEMO Consultants presented our innovative approaches for extending the life cycle of #buildings, building components, and #constructionmaterials—covering solutions like BIM-based applications, AI-driven material optimization, and automated disassembly systems. Day 2️⃣ discussions addressed significant barriers to CDW reuse, such as technical constraints, #regulatory challenges, and the cost-effectiveness of #recycledmaterials. ♻️Circular Technologies in Construction: Putting Science Into Standards A new report from the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) highlights the urgent need for #standardization to advance circular practices in the #constructionsector. With construction being a major contributor to waste and resource use, the report stresses the importance of standardization to guide the sector’s transition to a more #sustainable, circular model. With #GraphRAG integration, users can easily interact with the data using natural language queries, making it more efficient to access crucial information. By applying 𝗡𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗡𝗘𝗥) and 𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴, the system identifies key components—such as building parts, materials, and defects—and maps relationships (e.g., actions, planning, requirements) between them to derive actionable insights. The extracted data is organized into an interactive 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗵-𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, where entities and their relationships are stored and linked for easy querying and retrieval. This enables users to easily access specific information, like upcoming tasks or unresolved details. To further enhance this pipeline, 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗵𝗥𝗔𝗚 is integrated to convert natural language queries into structured graph queries. Additionally, the system employs 𝗕𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗼𝗺-𝗨𝗽 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 to group retrieved information, clustering related entities, components, or maintenance actions together. This allows users to ask questions like, "Which building components require urgent action?" and receive accurate, data-driven results in real-time. With 𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘂𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 through scheduled scripts, the system ensures that the knowledge graph remains current, supporting continuous decision-making for building performance and maintenance.
