Where do you stand between heaven and fields? 🌾 Maybe you have never really thought about it, but where in your everyday life do you get in touch with country life? Whether it's on a stroll through the weekly market, at the organic food shop or your favourite natural wine bar – we usually let the country life come to us in the cities, but rarely walk in the other direction ourselves. Just remember, when was the last time you embarked out on a farm, watching the hay harvest or the cows being fed? Perhaps it's time to leave the city behind and wander through the fields like an explorer, asking yourself: How does the carrot actually get to the organic food shop? When do you sow the grain? Why are hay bales round and straw bales square?  Along the way, you may get into conversation with farmers who will tell you about the hard but peaceful work in the fresh air, about the peace and clarity that lies between heaven and the fields, about potatoes and tomatoes, about farm life and their home. Some of our locations are situated on the grounds of picturesque farms and offer you the ideal starting point for your journey. Are we losing the ground under our feet? 🪱 Many of us think about climate change almost daily, as highlighted by today’s 2024 People’s Climate Vote from the UNDP. However, when we think about our environmental crisis, we often consider our planet as a whole, but we rarely focus on the very earth beneath our feet. The truth is, how our soils are doing is intimately connected to our climate. Healthy soils can store CO₂ as carbon, thereby removing it from the atmosphere and increasing resilience to extreme weather. Agriculture plays a significant role in this process: nearly half of land in Germany is agricultural land, making regenerative farming a crucial part of our journey towards a more sustainable future. That's why our partnership with Klim for soil regeneration is such an important milestone for us! When staying with us, you can now choose to add an extra €5 for regional climate protection. As the bright time of the year is finally in full swing, sparking our energy and enthusiasm, we are shining a light (quite literally) on creativity and how to find it – in nature! 👒 Creativity is often described as inventiveness, the ability to create something new, a combination of playfulness and imagination. At work, it’s that priceless ingredient that transforms a single thought into a great vision. Sometimes you have it, sometimes you keep looking for it like that four-leaf clover. Unfortunately, creativity is no light switch. It’s rather that sparkling treasure trove to cross oceans and jungles for. But how do you find that X marking the spot? Guess what: the ideal place to start is right in the middle of the thicket. Yep, in nature! Venturing out is a practice that has been cherished by artists, writers, and thinkers throughout history, from Caspar David Friedrich’s chalk cliffs to Bob Ross’ “happy little trees”. Studies show that interacting with nature can have a measurable benefit for solving creative problems. Its beauty, complexity, and serenity provide a tapestry of inspiration that can ignite that spark within us! But where to look for creativity in nature? Well, it could wait for you here:  – Between your toes as you stretch out on the lawn – Within the rustling of the leaves when the wind picks up – On the shimmering surface of a lake before you plunge into the water – Among the spots of a lady beetle making its way across a tree trunk – Behind the horizon as you look far over endless fields Take this as a sweet reminder that creativity is nothing that can be forced by rigidly staring at your computer or simply wanting it to appear. Sometimes, you have to let it go, let your attention wander – so it can come to you.

Today we want to make a recommendation: If you haven't listened to Sunset Club podcast episode “#40 – Chillen ohne Reue” by Joko Winterscheidt and Sophie Passmann yet, do it now! Because “chilling without regrets” is something that we seem to have pretty much forgotten about in our daily lives, despite being so much fun! So thanks to this entertaining convo, it’s finally back on the table – and especially various social media channels! What got us thinking after listening to this episode is: How come that we seem to have lost our ability to chill? Is it because we are overstimulated with 50 open tabs on our laptops and in our heads? Is it a simple side effect of adulthood that we can't do anything about? Well, maybe it means we have to unlearn taking care of everything all the time and instead, simply letting go. But easier said than done, right? At Raus, we figured out that we could all switch off so much easier when we were younger! So if you want to get chilling without regrets (CWR) right, we suggest you give your teenage self a grand comeback! Back in the days, the motto was basically all CWR everything: chilling in bed, chilling in the park, chilling by the lake, chilling with your friends, chilling your way. Let’s go back there! Because CWR is what makes vacation so great, and it is the secret ingredient of having pizza in bed. CWR is that zzzzzzishhh when you open an ice-cold bottle of your favourite drink – a moment of release and anticipation. It’s muting your thoughts, embracing idleness and enjoying every minute of it!
