"Ich würde mich jederzeit wieder bei #Porsche bewerben. Zum einen war es für mich persönlich ein super Berufseinstieg und zum anderen konnte ich mir hier in meinen bisherigen Stationen einen breitgefächerten Erfahrungsschatz aneignen." So beschreibt Dirk Assfalg seine Anfänge bei Porsche. Im Jahr 2002 begann er mit seiner Diplomarbeit zum Thema Funkdiagnose im Werk Zuffenhausen. Ein Thema, dass er im Anschluss direkt in Tat umsetzen durfte. "Ich bekam das Angebot, meine Ergebnisse direkt in die Realität umzusetzen. Diese Chance, als Jungingenieur das Porsche-Werk derart „umzukrempeln“, war für mich eine mega Motivation. Und das Beste: Mit dieser Technik werden auch heute noch alle 911, 718 und Taycan produziert." Heute ist Dirk Fachreferent Elektrik/Elektronik für die Baureihe Cayenne. "Damit bin ich zuständig für die Projektsteuerung von Funktionen und Bauteileumfängen aus dem Bereich Connect & Infotainment und das von der ersten Produktidee, über den Serienanlauf des Fahrzeuges bis zur Serien- und Nachserienbetreuung". Dabei behält er natürlich das Gesamtprojekt stets im Blick - speziell im Hinblick auf Termine, Kosten und Qualität. An Porsche gefällt Dirk vor allem die Zusammenarbeit und Arbeitskultur. "Man hat große Freiheiten im Ausgestalten seines Arbeitsgebietes und trotz diesem selbständigen Arbeiten, immer wieder tolle Kolleginnen und Kollegen." Als kreativen Ausgleich zum Job fotografiert er für sein Leben gerne und spielt als Schlagzeuger in einer Funk/Bossa Band. "Seit etwa 3 Jahren habe ich zudem das Restaurieren und Revidieren von alten mechanischen Uhren für mich entdeckt - Maschinenbau im Kleinen sozusagen." It's the last race of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) in 2023. Bahrain. 8 hours at full throttle. Sarah Bovy, Michelle Gatting and Rahel Frey are focused. The big goal lies ahead of them, today they want to make history. And behind them lies an exhausting season. Seven endurance races, three racing drivers, a pink #Porsche 911 RSR - and countless moments full of adrenaline and emotion. 9:11 Magazine accompanied the Iron Dames for a season. "It's not just about three women taking part in races," says Sarah Bovy right at the start. "The project is a real game changer!" Women in racing are nothing new at Porsche either - even in the early years of motorsport, female racing drivers such as Anny-Charlotte Verney and Gilberte Thirion caused a worldwide sensation and did important pioneering work. But the Iron Dames now want to add the next milestone to this history. And not at just any race, but at the most historic races in the world in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). Daytona, Sebring, Le Mans - the supreme discipline of endurance racing.

The abbreviation "RS" has a very special meaning in the automotive world. Just two letters, but so much meaning. RS is short for ‘rennsport’, which means racing in German. The Porsche RS story started back in 1957 when the name was applied to the 718 RSK race car, six years before the first 911 was even launched. Anders als bei bisherigen Restaurationswettbewerben stand beim „Legends Alive Contest“ der Porsche Schweiz AG nicht der Erhalt der Originalität im Vordergrund. Im Gegenteil: Je kreativer und individueller die Werkstätten den Cayenne umgestalteten, desto besser. Nur zwei wesentliche Vorgaben waren einzuhalten: Das Material-Budget für alle Umbauteile lag bei maximal 25.000 Franken. Und die Schweizer Motorfahrzeugkontrolle musste bestanden werden.
