Great partner region and great people! Thank you! 😊
There is a growing demand for bioderived and biodegradable materials, and yesterday I had the privilege of presenting at the #BIOPOLYMER2024 conference in Halle and to discuss Queensland's expertise in bio-based feedstocks and advanced R&D in biocomposites and biopolymers. The #BIOPOLYMER Processing & Moulding International Congress, a premier event, gathered experts, processors, and users of bio-based, #biodegradableplastics and was hosted by POLYKUM e. V.. The conference was co-organized by Dr Luigi Vandi from The University of Queensland, who is driving the sustainable material research at the Centre for Advanced Materials Processing and Manufacturing. He was joined virtually by Prof Bronwyn Laycock, Deputy Director of the ARC Training Centre for Bioplastics and Biocomposites and UQ's research partners Alec Foster from Scion in New Zealand and Michael Kingsbury from Uluu, who produce an exiting new biomaterial made from seaweed.
