Did you know that more than two million pieces of litter are dropped in the UK every day? Hannah Cockroft OBE, PLY, DL was shocked when she found out about this statistic. “But at the same time, having witnessed the beautiful area where I live becoming increasingly littered, I’m sadly not surprised. My Dad has even used the sight of empty drinks bottles as finish lines when we’ve been out training!” she explained You may already know that Hannah is passionate about doing what she can to help her local area by litter picking and the wider world by banning single-use plastics and other activities that reduce her carbon footprint. 🌱 It’s why she became a Team Panasonic sustainability ambassador: “But it’s not just me. I’m proud to work alongside some really amazing athletes as part of Team Panasonic.” One of them is a fellow Team GB athlete, Hannah Mills. For Hannah Cockroft she is super inspiring as a sustainability champion and is the Founder of the Big Plastic Pledge. Hannah Mills is taking part in the first ever Women’s America’s Cup in Barcelona from 5th October – So we and Hannah Cockroft OBE, PLY, DL wish her HUGE amounts of luck as she prepares. It feels like only yesterday that we were witnessing some of the most incredible moments in sporting history - moments that will stay with us forever! 🏅✨ The Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024 were more than a showcase of sporting excellence; they were a powerful reminder of the unifying spirit of sport. Nearly 15,000 athletes, including 4,400 Paralympians, came together to push boundaries, break records and inspire the world. 🌍💪 From vibrant venues across 56 locations, including the stunning Parc des Champions at the Trocadéro, it was a stage where dreams came true and 7 nations celebrated their first-ever Olympic or Paralympic medals - proof that the future of the sport is brighter and more inclusive than ever. Paris 2024 it's a wrap! 🎉🏅 Panasonic Connect Europe's cutting-edge technology provided thrilling projection mapping, streamlined sports presentations over IP and brought exciting moments from the pitch to the screens of spectators at Paris 2024. ☑️ Over 160 high-bright projectors transformed venues with awe-inspiring visuals, from mesmerizing water projections on the pool to dynamic visual show in cycling, judo, volleyball, and other arenas. ☑️ Our KAIROS IT/IP platform seamlessly powered video content across 26 sports venues, playing a pivotal role in the Opening Ceremony. It brought video content to LED screens around the venue to captivate audiences worldwide. ☑️ Panasonic PTZ cameras were strategically placed in 29 press rooms, capturing interview footage and sending it directly to the Main Press Centre (MPC). This innovative setup facilitated simultaneous interpretation, enabling real-time translation without the need for travel, revolutionizing communication. ☑️ Our professional displays, trusted from past Games, continue to shine at the International Broadcast Centre (IBC) and Main Press Centre (MPC). At Paris 2024, these displays are crucial for monitoring competition images and projecting the excitement of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, ensuring smooth operations and delivering up-to-the-minute information to the world. Big news from Panasonic Energy! 🚗🔋 With the start of mass production of 4680 lithium-ion batteries, they are preparing to transform the electric vehicle (EV) world. The new 4680 battery cells have five times the capacity of previous models, which means longer ranges, fewer cells per battery pack and a more efficient assembly process - helping to reduce the cost of EVs and make them accessible to more people. This innovation is being spearheaded at our newly revamped Wakayama factory in Japan. With the goal of achieving environmentally-friendly manufacturing, the Wakayama factory plans to utilize renewable energy sources like solar power and onshore wind power to the fullest extent, aiming for virtually zero CO2 emissions during its production processes.🌱 By March 2029, Panasonic Energy aims to bring this sustainable model to all 20 global factories.
