Make small things matter. In 2007, a team of researchers from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) set out to rethink microfabrication. At that time, Two-Photon Polymerization (2PP), the underlying core physics and chemistry for the Nanoscribe technology, was a small niche research topic. The founders however recognized the potential and made 2PP-based 3D printers commercially available. Besides the 2PP-based 3D Microfabrication technology, Nanoscribe revealed its proprietary Two-Photon Grayscale Lithography (2GL ®) with presenting the maskless lithography platform Quantum X in 2019. 2GL combines 2PP with the qualities of grayscale lithography and thus enables rapid and precise microfabrication of ultra-smooth surfaces and structures with excellent shape accuracy in 2D and 2.5D. Providing hardware, software, materials and processes as a complete solution is the key to our customers’ success today and the crucial driver for applications in a wide variety of sectors such as life sciences, microoptics, material engineering, microfluidics, micromechanics and MEMS. Now, Nanoscribe has over 100 employees, operates subsidiaries in Shanghai (China) and Boston (US) and is a member of the BICO Group (formerly CELLINK) since June 2021. Our customers and more than 4,000 active operators are based in more than 30 countries worldwide, in science as well as in industry. Breakthrough research is highlighted in more than 1,800 peer-reviewed journal publications. We are actively involved in promising research and development projects with partners from science, research, industry and we also cooperate with our customers in many projects. As market and technology leader in our field, our high-precision 3D printers and maskless lithography systems are established as fundamental tools in nano-, micro- and mesoscale fabrication.     Michelangelo took 2 years... I #3Dprinted it in 20 minutes. But to be fair, my version is 3,000 times smaller than the original one. 😂 When Michelangelo sculpted his famous Moses, he spent years perfecting every detail, obsessed with precision and artistry. And while my print was faster, we’ve also spent years optimizing our Two-Photon Grayscale Lithography (2GL) to achieve 3D prints that match the design perfectly. Using femtosecond lasers, the Nanoscribe Quantum X achieves nanoscale precision, capturing every intricate detail. The result? A 750 μm tall version of Moses.     ⚙️ ECOC Training Course recap: A day of hands-on learning at Nanoscribe!⚙️ What a day! Yesterday's ECOC training course on #2PP for optical interconnects was packed with hands-on sessions and engaging discussions. 💻 nanoPrintX software workshop: Attendees were immersed in the possibilities of our nanoPrintX software, starting with a brief introduction before jumping right into a hands-on session. It was fantastic to see everyone fully engaged, exploring the capabilities of the software and having a great time. 🛠️ Live demo using Quantum X align: The second session featured a live demonstration of the Quantum X align printing directly onto fiber. Attendees had the opportunity to mount substrates and develop their own sample. The excitement was palpable as everyone asked insightful questions and saw firsthand how Quantum X could enhance their work, especially for those already familiar with Two-Photon Polymerization based #3Dprinting Attendees left #Nanoscribe with a fresh perspective on how these tools can enhance their 3D microfabrication projects. With a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the Universität Heidelberg, Saskia's research within the Exzellenzcluster 3D Matter Made to Order (3DMM2O) focused on innovative materials for Two-Photon Polymerization (2PP) based #3DPrinting. 🧪 👩🏻🔬 Before joining us, Saskia was immersed in her PhD research, exploring advances in low-shrinkage #resins and resin formulations without photoinitiators. She also worked as a self-employed #sciencecommunicator, translating complex scientific ideas into accessible content. 🧬✨ Her background gives her a strong grasp of 2PP technology and the ability to create targeted content.
