🎉 It’s graduation day for CancerX’s Accelerator program's inaugural cohort of startups! For four months, The Blue Box Biomedical Solutions, C the Signs, Cancer Insights, Curiva, EnteroTrack LLC., Gesund.ai, Gray Oncology Solutions, Lind, Mika, Navya Care, Oatmeal Health, Orbit Genomics, Realyze Intelligence, Reimagine Care, SurvivorPlan, XanthosHealth, collaborated with Accelerator Champions, Mentors, federal partners, and CancerX members across the healthcare ecosystem to generate and scale ideas that have the potential to save lives and improve the experience of cancer patients and their caregivers—both strongly tied to CancerX and the Cancer Moonshot goals. The startups shared ideas for digital innovation in clinical research, screening and diagnosis, treatment and management, clinical operations, and patient, caregiver, and survivor experience, and were selected from a strong pool of over 100 startup applicants. Judging for the CancerX Accelerator was led by Moffitt Cancer Center and MassChallenge alongside CancerX Accelerator Champions Atrium Health, AstraZeneca, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Debiopharm, Dell Technologies, Intel Corporation, Oncology Ventures, Reveal HealthTech, and UC Davis Health with insight and observation by our federal partners. By graduating from the Accelerator program, these startups now have a roadmap to successfully scale their company, an opportunity to move forward with their sponsor, and a strong community supporting their development. And with 16 empowered startups poised for success and equipped with the tools and expertise needed to bring their ideas to life, significant strides are being made in revolutionizing the fight against cancer through digital innovation. 👏 Please join us in recognizing and celebrating these Startups, their Champions, and Mentors, and the incredible impact of their progress in CancerX’s mission to unleash the power of innovation to reduce the burden of cancer for everyone. Earlier this year, Mika was one of 16 startup companies selected for the first cohort of the CancerX Accelerator program, which helped them attract scale-up partners like MassiveBio, a CancerX member organization. By working with Massive Bio, Mika is providing AI-enabled tools to improve access to next-generation sequencing and mental health support for patients seeking clinical trials involving investigational cancer therapies. This partnership is helping patients and their families accelerate their access to important information that can connect them to the right clinical trials while improving their experience managing the process—both strongly tied to CancerX and the Cancer Moonshot goals. 💪 The power of the CancerX community is truly in action as two of our CancerX members, Cancer Support Community (CSC) and Mika, are joining forces on an exciting and significant effort! 🧠 CSC and Mika Health are working toward distributing an app-based platform aimed at broadening access to mental health services and essential support for individuals undergoing cancer treatments in North America. This initiative marks the introduction of the region's first free AI-enabled evidence-based oncologic digital therapeutic. 🚀 Driven by a passion for innovation and inspired by The White House’s Cancer Moonshot efforts to enhance the patient experience, Sally Werner, CEO of CSC, explains why CSC joined CancerX as a founding member, “CancerX fosters a vibrant ecosystem of collaboration and opportunities between partners that might not otherwise cross paths. 🚀 What an exciting week it has been for our team at the inaugural HLTH Europe conference in Amsterdam! 🌟 Florian K. and Laura Nelde had an amazing time filled with thought-provoking talks, panels, and networking events. It was wonderful to reconnect with partners and colleagues while also forging new connections. A highlight of the week was Laura kicking things off with a market access workshop on entering Germany. She was joined by Dorothée Marie-Louise Doepfer (BIH Digital Health Accelerator), Michael Huebner (Sana Kliniken), and Gandolf Finke, PhD (Mika). Together, they shared valuable insights into the complexities and rewards of navigating the German healthcare system. The takeaway: it’s complex, but worth it! 💡 TRUST was the word of the conference, resonating throughout all interactions and discussions. Trust emerged as a crucial theme, not only in AI but also in DTx-driven behavior change. Human elements and blended care models were highlighted as key to creating trust, increasing adherence, and driving outcomes. Thank you, HLTH Europe, for an incredible event.
