While the world eagerly awaits the opening of the summer games in Paris, we at Mercedes-Benz Tech Motion already have a reason to celebrate:   Denis Bujan and Nicole Puckade from the team “Digital Twin Production Planning” won the gold medal at our internal equivalent to the summer games, carried out in the division of Production Planning (PP)! 🎖️   The goal of the competition, which has been held monthly since March, is to highlight best practices in production planning. In May, our colleagues secured first place with the introduction of a PP standard dashboard in LeanIX, an internal administration tool for all purchased, planned and developed applications and services including responsibilities. The award-winning project is an essential step in our digital transformation, as it establishes a central, digital platform that provides a comprehensive view of the IT landscape and significantly reduces manual processes. The gold medal is already the second success for the team after winning the “Pioneering Digitalization Award”.   We are thrilled about this award and congratulate the team Digital Twin Production Planning. As Technical 3D Designer UI/UX In-Car at Mercedes-Benz Tech Motion, Pasu unites aesthetics with functionality and ensures that the visual elements of our digital applications are of the highest quality possible. Deeply grounded in Front-End development, his role involves working closely with various teams. In our slideshow you can see Pasu in his element. But don't be misled: The minimal setup is not his standard environment as he usually works with multiple screens and peripherals such as a VR headset and touchscreens. Shaping the future: Mercedes-Benz Tech Motion meets talents in Computational Visualistics   It was a day filled with future-oriented impulses and lively exchange: Oliver Adams and Lucas Hilbig represented Mercedes-Benz Tech Motion at the Computational Visualistics Day (CV Day) at the University of Koblenz on July 5th.   This year, the CV Day celebrated its 25th anniversary. Presenting current projects and products in the field of Virtual Engineering, our colleagues demonstrated how our work in 3D rendering, modeling, computer vision, and AI goes hand in hand with the study contents of Computational Visualistics. At the booth, our UI/UX Technical Design project was showcased on the Hyperscreen, which served as an opportunity to discuss various career paths with students.   The long-standing exchange between Mercedes-Benz Tech Motion and the University of Koblenz has proved successful — with numerous degree theses and the integration of talents like Lucas Hilbig into our team.   ➡️ What's our takeaway from the event? “What advice would you give to your younger self?” 🤔   This was one of the thought-provoking questions at our last #MotionTalk. On June 20th, this internal series on cultural topics was held under the motto “Women@MBTM”. It was specifically offered for our female colleagues during #DiversityMonth to encourage networking across different areas of the company, learn from each other and share experiences.   After a short introduction by Karolin Blank, Rachel Heimann guided us through the event. A highlight were our interview guests and Business Unit Leads Ulrike M. Martin and Sandra Mühe. Not only did they give insights into their career paths and the challenges involved, but they also emphasized the invaluable role of networking and authenticity in the workplace. Their advice to their younger selves? Above all, the importance of networking, active listening and communication based on an equal footing! An interactive Mentimeter survey, followed by in-depth discussions in small groups and breakout sessions, brought vibrant insights and provided a successful wrap-up to the event.   So what advice would you give to your younger self? The flood situation in Baden-Württemberg at the beginning of June still concerns us very much, as some of our colleagues are also affected. #solidarity is very important to us. That is why Mercedes-Benz Tech Motion has decided to help: We have donated 5,000 euros to the central donation account of the Rems-Murr district to help people who have been affected by the floods. Here is why our #DiversityMonth is the perfect time to discuss the importance of supporting parents in the hybrid workplace. 👇 As part of our commitment to diversity, we have spotlighted the topic of parenthood in the hybrid workplace as part of a special edition of our #MotionTalks, an internal series of talks on cultural topics. The majority of all employees in Germany are parents or will be in the future: It is therefore important that we jointly address the challenges and opportunities that blend of office and remote work presents. Moderated by Alexandra Stark, Ida Kocher and Karolin Blank, an open and engaging discussion took place in which a total of 150 colleagues took part both on-site and online. Our panel guests Agnes Linkenbach, Kai Fischer, Natalia Reiswich, Patrick Petzold and Swantje Friedrich shared their experiences and gave other parents tips on how to balance work and family life. 👩💻👨💻 The positive feedback from the participants showed that Mercedes-Benz Tech Motion is already making a significant contribution in this regard. In particular, it was emphasized that our flexible working time model excellently supports work-life balance. Of course, there is still room for improvement, which was also discussed. At Mercedes-Benz Tech Motion, we want to continue working together to create a working environment that supports all lifestyles.
