We are celebrating the first anniversary of our NFT trading card app Uptrip! 🎂✨ The collaboration between Miles & More GmbH and the Lufthansa Innovation Hub was the key to Uptrip's success. By combining our strengths, we were able to develop the app and bring it to market quickly. Since the launch of Uptrip in April 2023, we have reached several significant milestones: → More than 70,000 users have actively converted close to 500,000 boarding passes into over 1,000,000 digital trading cards. → We introduced our in-app marketplace, offering even more opportunities to collect rewards and connect. → We held a successful community event celebrating our anniversary. Users could participate in a scavenger hunt for a chance to win one of three Senator statuses.  → We released an exclusive edition of trading cards for passengers of Lufthansa’s new Allegris product. → We launched a special feature for the UEFA EURO 2024. 🔮 Of course, we are not resting on our success; we have ambitious plans for the future. Looking ahead, sustainability will become a new focus area for us. Additionally, we will be adding more gamification features to enhance your experience and make Uptrip even more fun. Uptrip is also close to issuing the one millionth card to our users, with a special surprise for the person receiving this milestone card. 🎉 Celebrate with us and become part of the Uptrip community! 🚀 You can find more info on our website: https://www.uptrip.app/  #Lufthansa #Uptrip #Innovation #NFT #Loyalty #Gamification #EURO2024

In her recent talk, “Past Insights, Future Flights: Decoding aviation’s future through 10 years of Strategic Intelligence”, our Senior Research & Intelligence Analyst Anna Schneider explored where aviation is heading. 🔥 This year marks the 10th anniversary of our mission to lead the future of travel and aviation. We’re celebrating 10 years of InTENtional Innovation and dedicate our 10th year to sharing our learnings, beliefs, and expertise, deep-diving into the past, present and future. Our Strategic Intelligence team systematically analyzes and explores the developments in the global travel and mobility tech ecosystem. They sense early market signals, detect trends and translate them into true industry thought leadership. 🧠 Following this mission, Anna Schneider delved deeper into the heyday of VC funding in travel, highlighted the impact of the pandemic on investments, and concluded what this rollercoaster ride means for the future of aviation. These are our top 3 takeaways: 💡 Operational efficiency leads: The pandemic highlighted operational bottlenecks in aviation, and even as travel recovered in 2023, passenger sentiment towards air travel is still way below pre-pandemic levels. Consequently, operational efficiency remains a dominant focus for investments, with automation being critical across the aircraft value chain due to tight margins and high costs from disruptions. 💡 Sustainability is on the rise: Sustainability has become a strategic priority for aviation corporations. The debate began in 2019, and by 2021, airlines had started mentioning sustainability more regularly as part of their Earnings Calls. In 2023, a large portion of investments by aviation corporates were dedicated to sustainability. In light of social and regulatory pressures to decarbonize aviation, this trend will only continue to grow. 💡 AI investment is more than just a hype: AI has been a key investment trend in aviation, with applications in autonomous driving, robotics and drones, predictive analytics, and customer support. GenAI is also gaining traction but remains a niche area - for now. If you want to learn more about investments in aviation, we highly recommend our annual flagship report, The Sector Attractiveness Report 2024. You can find the link in the comments. 👀 In your opinion, what are the most important developments ahead in aviation? #Research #Aviation #LIH10 #InTENtionalInnovation

✨ How is AI revolutionizing the way we innovate and build ventures? At our recent event in Berlin, we explored AI’s game-changing potential. This year, we’re celebrating 10 years of InTENtional Innovation at Lufthansa Innovation Hub. We dedicate our 10th year to sharing our learnings, beliefs, and expertise, deep-diving into the past, present and future. One highlight of this journey was our event, “PoTENtial Unleashed: AI in Venture Building,” organized by Jana Maria Jacobs and Kristian Siebenrock from our New Business team. The event, held at our Berlin office, brought together AI enthusiasts, venture builders, and industry experts. A special highlight was the keynote by Christian Lindener 🥷 (Managing Partner Europe, Mach49), who shared his extensive experience with AI in venture building. During the subsequent panel discussion, Christian Lindener 🥷, Sascha Weiler (Founding Partner, GoGroup.), Florian Peter (Partner, Bridgemaker), and Jana Maria Jacobs (Senior Venture Development Manager, Lufthansa Innovation Hub) discussed opportunities, challenges, and if there’s a need to “keep our craft alive.” Thank you all for your insights! 💚 Here are our five key takeaways from the discussion: 🤖 The main limitation for AI in venture building is not the clients, but us, the venture developers. We need to challenge our work methods and relearn our craft as AI's role grows. 🤖 The future of venture building hinges on whether AI becomes a commodity or a differentiator. Will it be a universally integrated tool or create disparities due to varied usage and data input? 🤖 Venture development will be AI-powered and expert-led. The role of venture developers is evolving to not only build and scale startups but also to anticipate future developments, which AI can't yet do… 🤖 … the emphasis is on NOT yet: While AI currently learns from past data, time series analysis is gaining importance, enabling AI to predict future trends—potentially better than humans. 🤖 AI revolutionizes both speed and quality in venture building. Previously, venture builders had to switch industries and acquire new knowledge constantly. Now, AI allows us to leapfrog between industries much faster. Another big thank you to all our guests and to everyone who contributed to this successful evening. See you at our next event! 🦾 Noah Wägner (Bridgemaker), Xavier Lagardere, Cori Moore, Kristina Becker, Michael Meng, Anastasia Pietrovich, Weiting L. Melanie Gu, Alice Choi, Andrew Mogire, Gareth Byrne How are you leveraging AI for venture building? What’s your experience? #LIH10 #InTENtionalInnovation #AI #GenAI #VentureBuilding #Startups
