Certified Pharma Excellence Worldwide ✈️🌍💊💉   Did you know that #LufthansaCargo has more than 55 certified pharma stations worldwide, along with over 150 additional stations with temperature-controlled capabilities? Check out our pharma network map to learn more about the certified stations.   As one of the largest pharmaceutical networks worldwide, we offer more than 30 CEIV-certified and more than 50 GDP-compliant stations in our network, as well as having a CEIV Pharma certification as an airline.   Our Pharma Hubs in Munich and Chicago have recently been recertified with the IATA CEIV Pharma seal for another three years, reaffirming our commitment to handling temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical shipments at the highest international quality standards.   Our Pharma Hub Munich is unique at this logistically important hub. The state-of-the-art cold store was opened at Munich Airport in August 2020 and is the first and only temperature-controlled center there with CEIV Pharma certification. On almost 1000 square meters, it offers two different cooling areas ( 2 to 8 °C and 15 to 25 °C) as well as a deep-freeze cell. Our Pharma Center Chicago at O' Hare Airport was opened in June 2020 as a central transshipment point for pharmaceutical products in the USA. A deep-freeze cell and two different temperature ranges ( 2 to 8 °C and 15 to 25 °C) are spread over approximately 750 square meters. The state-of-the-art Pharma Center also offers space for 54 pallets in a unique, temperature-controlled rack storage system.   Our Pharma Hub Frankfurt was already expanded in 2018. The majority of our pharmaceutical shipments are handled via this hub. With around 8,300 square meters, it is one of the world's first temperature-controlled centers with CEIV Pharma certification.   #EnablingGlobalBusiness

Lufthansa Cargo expands network and adds new destinations in China 🇨🇳    We are happy to announce that we are flying to two more Asian stations with our B777F long-haul fleet from our home hub in Frankfurt. We have added Shenzhen Boa’an International Airport (SZX) to our freighter network and will serve it twice a week in the future. We have also recently started operating freighters to Zhengzhou (CGO) three days a week.      "In the Chinese market, the e-commerce business segment in particular is growing steadily, and we continue to see high demand, especially to Europe. Accordingly, additional air freight capacity is needed to transport goods quickly, compliantly, and safely. With the expansion of our Asian network, we can now serve even more important freight destinations in China for our customers. This will be possible thanks to the new B777F freighter, which we expect to receive in the course of this summer. This will not only mean #EnablingGlobalBusiness for our customers in a sustainable way, but also growing as a company in an important cargo region," explains our CEO Ashwin Bhat.   With the two new Chinese destinations, we can now offer you a total of 19 destinations with 47 weekly frequencies in Asia and thus additional important flexible capacities for the fast and direct transportation of your goods. Lufthansa Cargo appoints Anand Kulkarni as Head of Global Markets Anand Kulkarni will assume the newly created position of Head of Global Markets at #LufthansaCargo. In this role, he will lead and manage our sales regions and the Digital Sales department. This includes the regions Germany, Austria & Switzerland, Europe, Middle East, Africa, South Asia & CIS, Americas and Asia Pacific. In his role, Kulkarni will report to our CEO Ashwin Bhat.   With 25 years of experience in the logistics industry, Anand Kulkarni brings a truly global leadership perspective to the role of Head of Global Markets. Prior to joining Lufthansa Cargo, Kulkarni was Head of Global Expansion at General Logistics Systems (GLS Group), where he developed and implemented the global growth strategy. Prior to that, he spent 15 years with DHL in various management positions in Asia Pacific and EMEA. His responsibilities included leading regional Pricing & Profitability and global Sales Steering & Performance Management for DHL's top 100 strategic customers. He was also part of DHL's Global Aviation Strategy project which led to the creation of AeroLogic. He also worked in the US for a management consulting firm specializing in aviation strategy and finance. During his career, he has worked with the full spectrum of the aviation value chain - airframe manufacturers, leasing companies, airlines, financial and legal firms, and regulatory authorities. Anand Kulkarni holds a Master's degree in Finance from the London Business School, UK, and a Master's degree in Transportation Engineering from the University of Connecticut, USA. Servus Munich!   This weekend we celebrated the arrival of the first A321 freighter in Munich! As of now, the short- and medium-haul freighter will connect Munich and Istanbul twice a week.   The inaugural flight with flight number LH8351 touched down ahead of schedule on Saturday, 4.49 pm for the first time and was warmly welcomed by our Head of Sales in Munich Katrin Schneider, our Head of Hub Management in Munich Ivo Seehann, and Markus Heinelt, Director Cargo Development from Munich Airport and their colleagues. Our team in Istanbul celebrated the new routing as well sending a "Servus" to the Bavarian capital.   Our state-of-the-art hub in Munich, spanning 38,000 m², is equipped to handle a wide range of commodities, including temperature-sensitive pharma through our CEIV-certified Pharma Hub MUC.   With this new freighter connection, we are enhancing our global network making it even more attractive and flexible.
