For the first time, over 50% 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑬𝑼’𝒔 𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝒉𝒂𝒍𝒇 𝒐𝒇 2024 𝒉𝒂𝒔 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒘𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆𝒔! Including nuclear energy, 74% of the electricity produced in the EU is now from renewable and low-carbon sources.   This transformation isn't just about cleaner energy; it’s about a diverse array of players and technological democratization. With Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) growing significantly, the energy production system is vastly different from the centralized fossil fuel-based grid of the past.   🔹 Global rooftop solar capacity nearly matched utility-scale solar capacity in 2022. 🔹 Grid modernization is essential, with 40% of Europe’s grid being over 40 years old. 🔹 Electrification is key, with EV battery deployment increasing by 40% in 2023.   These are just a few of the shifts in this 100 year old industry.
