Kluuf ist eine nachhaltige Hautpflegemarke, die unkompliziert anzuwendende Pflegeprodukte für Männer anbietet. Durch die Kombination von innovativen und traditionellen Inhaltsstoffen kann Kluuf Produkte anbieten, die nicht nur wirksam sind, sondern auch vielfältige Nutzen für die Haut bieten. Kluuf verzichtet bewusst auf die Verwendung von Inhaltsstoffen, die nicht im Einklang mit der eigenen Nachhaltigkeitsagenda stehen, wie z.B. Parabene, Paraffine, PEGs, Sulfate und viele weitere. Dies ermöglicht eine unbeschwerte Hautpflege, die nur wenige Minuten am Tag in Anspruch nimmt - so dass Kunden Zeit für die wichtigen Dinge im Leben haben. Für Kluuf ist soziale Gerechtigkeit eine Priorität. Deshalb hat sich das Unternehmen verpflichtet, mindestens 10 % des Jahresgewinns in soziale Entwicklungsprojekte zu investieren.     Uff... first podcast appearance - let's make it a big one! 📢 Extremely excited to have been invited by Max to talk about Kluuf's mission, sustainability and social responsibility for the latest Startcast Podcast episode (Germany's Top 3! business podcast). I was hands down pretty nervous going into the conversation, given that this was my first ever podcast and Max is used to speak with the likes of Frank Thelen or Carsten Maschmeyer, but it turned down to be an insightful and inspiring exchange, which I could enjoy a lot.     Seeing Kluuf's products featured in the press is always a highlight for me 📸 On the one hand – and this appeals to the rational, finance & strategic side in me - because features in newspapers and magazines are still the number one source of information for German beauty consumers, ahead of television, internet and – yes – social media (📈 GIK Beauty Report 2023). On the other hand – and this captivates my emotional side – it simply makes me proud seeing kluuf recognized on such a broad level. Part of the truth, however, is also that I don’t know whether it was the right move to shift a significant chunk of our marketing budget towards PR in our first year. Only time will tell. So for now, I will continue to enjoy seeing kluuf appear in magazines every now and then 😊 .

    PETA VEGAN AWARD 2023 - BEST AFTER SHAVE 🌱💫 kluuf has been recognised with the PETA beauty award for the best vegan after shave! What sounds like a dream has been officially announced this week, but we still have difficulties believing being awarded one of the most prestigious awards in the beauty industry. The icing on the cake are the words by PETA Germany co-founder Harald Ullmann, who encourages brands to follows kluuf’s example.     I have never cared too much about business cards and titles (that’s a lie by the way -more at the bottom*) But with starting Kluuf it didn’t matter anymore to me what the business card or title said (for people who think that “founder” is a cool title, let me tell you: It is not. David Chang described very accurately in “Eat a peach” that the success of his business Momofuku boils down to his capacity to eat shit). That changed however, when I received the business cards from HIT - Help In Time gGmbH for our non-profit work in Germany and in South Africa. I am beyond proud of the work this fantastic organisation is doing and grateful for their trust in me to take me onboard as director and founding member in South Africa. I will carry these business cards wherever I go. For the ones that didn’t know: HIT is the organisation of choice Kluuf is committed to donate 10% all profits to! I put a link to a description to some of HIT’s projects in the first comments in case you like to learn more or support. *in my twenties I was probably more interested about what a little a piece of paper said about me than what some friends did.     kluuf didn't make it - but we are keeping our head held high! In August we participated in GlossWire's Global Pitch competition and made it to the finale. We were absolutely starstruck by celebrated judges (such as industry legend Kelly Kovac or TV personality Amanza Smith) and at awe by the already extremely accomplished competing finalists (such as “Joy of Beauty”, “oquist cosmetics” and HEAR ME RAW). Despite our best efforts we didn't win. However, we definitely earned our spores amongst brands with millions of dollars in founding and noteworthy endorsement deals. What's more is that we learned a hell lot and got connected to fellow beauty brands and industry experts. We keep saying it over and over again: kluuf is not in a 'winner takes it all market'. Us small, sustainable beauty brands can succeed together and shift the market in the right direction. Big shoutout to the winners Mike Indursky, Joy A. Johnson and Olga Ringquist. Let’s keep the momentum indie brands and make a change!

    Let's turn something bad into something good, but how? 🤔 Roughly 2,000€ worth of Kluuf skincare got damaged by a carrier (for a small company that is a substantial loss). Luckily, the damages are limited to the outer packaging, so instead of dwelling over the loss, we are wondering who could still benefit from the products? So far the ideas are giving the after shaves to a homeless shelter and sponsoring raffles (with a charitable background) with the rest of the products. If you have an idea what to do with the product or a specific charity in mind, feel free to send me a message or comment this post 🙏
