After the success of our inaugural event focused on networking among women, highlighted by an inspiring keynote from our CEO, Sarah Lawton-Duma, our Women@Kloeckner gathering returned with a pivotal focus: understanding the art of setting boundaries and mastering the art of saying no (and yes!) when necessary, both in personal and professional spheres 👩💻 👩👧👦 This time, we were honored to have Robin Portera, Director of P2P & Indirect Spend at Kloeckner Metals - Americas, as our keynote speaker. Robin shared her remarkable journey, illustrating how she climbed to a leadership position while surmounting various challenges. Continuing our tradition from the first event, our format transitioned into an interactive workshop, organized and led by yuii Business-Training (Madeleine Yoran and Kaja Demuth). We extend our gratitude to them for their invaluable inputs and methods, fostering collaboration in both small and large groups, and yielding exceptional results in record time. Every moment spent with them is a true pleasure! ⏳✨ Thanks to the inspiring stories shared by our colleagues, we're reminded that while life presents challenges and obstacles, they can certainly be overcome. How? By mastering the art of setting boundaries and surrounding ourselves with individuals from whom we can learn and with whom we can share experiences (networking), we can undoubtedly progress toward our goals. 🌟 This week we had our first 'Women at Kloeckner' event - a virtual event dedicated entirely to women in the business world at Klöckner. The intention is to create a platform of insightful conversations, empowering training, valuable networking, and the celebration of female leaders in the corporate world. The highlight of this very first event was a keynote speech by our CEO Sarah Lawton-Duma who shared her career journey, challenges she faced and overcame, balancing family and career, and how important it is to enjoy what you are doing! Her speech was followed by an interactive workshop by yuii Business-Training on networking for women with great hints and tips on how to overcome the fear of meeting new people and what value you can derive from a strong network. We plan a networking series with more events to come 🚀

🌿 Breaking Ground for a Sustainable Future! Our green #Nexigen steel is now making waves in Dortmund, Germany. ALHO Systembau GmbH is leading the change towards sustainability by choosing our Nexigen brand green steel for a high school project, marking the first modular building in all of Germany to utilize our environmentally friendly steel. Where does our green #Nexigen steel actually go? It's always impressive to see what projects it ends up going into. In this case, a school in Dortmund, Germany will benefit from our green steel: ALHO Systembau GmbH, a leading player in modern modular construction, is increasing its focus on #sustainability in the building industry. The high school in Dortmund will be the first modular building in the whole of Germany to be constructed with our Nexigen brand green steel. ALHO wants to significantly reduce the CO₂ footprint of modular steel construction and is relying on cooperation with us to do so. The production of modular buildings with conventional steel already makes it possible to reduce CO₂ emissions by around 20% compared with solid house constructions. In Dortmund, steel from our PRIME category is being used, which means a CO₂ saving of 662 kg CO₂ equivalents per t of steel. This reduces the CO₂ equivalents in the production of the modular building by an absolute 316 t or around 30% compared to a solid house construction! The fusion of environmentally friendly steel, transparent CO₂ reduction and state-of-the-art modular construction shows that our efforts with Nexigen® and CO₂-reduced products can also be a driving force for change in the construction industry. Groundbreaking for the construction project in Dortmund is expected to take place this fall. Stay tuned!
