“KA-RaceIng” ist eine Hochschulgruppe am Karlsruher Institut für Technologie und nimmt an dem internationalen Konstruktionswettbewerb der Formula Student teil, in dem Rennwagen von Studierenden selbst entwickelt und gefertigt werden. Seit 2006 entwickeln und fertigen wir Rennfahrzeuge im Rahmen des Wettbewerbs. Das Team setzt sich dabei jedes Jahr aus knapp 90 Studierenden unterschiedlichster Fachrichtun- gen zusammen. Organisiert ist KA-RaceIng dabei wie ein kleines Unternehmen. Die einzelnen Abteilungen („Subteams“) haben die Verantwortung für eine bestimmte Baugruppe an den Fahrzeugen. Jedes Mitglied ist als Teil seines Subteams selbst für ein Bauteil oder eine Aufgabe verantwortlich. Die Teamleiter der Subteams treffen sich wöchentlich in der Assembly,bei der alle teamübergreifenden Entscheidungen getroffen werden. Unterstützt wird die Assembly dabei von ehemaligen Teammitgliedern, die ihre Erfahrungen weiterreichen. Die inzwischen über 800 ehemaligen Mitglieder werden durch den „Alumnirat“ vertreten, der das aktuelle Team die Saison über berät und eine nachhaltige Verbindung zu den vielen Alumni sicherstellt.

21 Judges und 80 Studierende aus acht Formula Student Rennteams: das war das #Porsche Prejudging Am Dienstag durften wir acht Formula Student Teams bei uns im Ausbildungszentrum in Zuffenhausen begrüßen. Das Ziel: Zugang zu den Talenten von morgen sichern. 💪 Die Veranstaltung konzentrierte sich auf die Vorbereitung der Teams für die bevorstehenden Formula Student Rennevents im Sommer. Unsere Judges bewerteten die Teams in verschiedenen Disziplinen wie Engineering Design, Cost and Manufacturing sowie Business-Plan Presentation. Dies bot den Studierenden eine unvergleichliche Gelegenheit, wertvolle Einblicke und Ratschläge von Experten aus verschiedenen Fachbereichen, darunter Entwicklung, Produktion und IT sowie von Kollegen der Porsche Engineering, zu erhalten. Zusätzlich zum Judging erhielten die Studierenden eine Führung durch das Ausbildungszentrum, Einblicke in die spannende Welt der Batterieentwicklung bei Porsche und der Porsche Engineering und einen abschließenden Rundgang durch unser Porsche Museum. Since we currently don't have any more pictures of the KIT24 and the weather is delaying our first drive, we want to share some impressions from the recent rollout. 📸🌧️ Not only the KIT23, but also the KIT21e and the KIT16c drew a lot of interest during the driving demonstration after the presentation. 🚗💨 We haven't built combustion engines since the 2019 season, so it was particularly exciting that our alumni got the KIT16c ready to go! 🔧🎉 But why aren't the KIT23 and KIT24 called KIT23e and KIT24e? Because since last season, our vehicles can drive both electrically with a driver and electrically driverless – essentially two in one! ⚡ Therefore, we now build only one vehicle that can compete in two Formula Student categories. 🏆🏎️ #FormulaStudent #KIT #Motorsport #Innovation #ElectricVehicles

It's been just over a week now, so let's take a quick look back at the rollout. ⏪ We welcomed you in the early evening. In addition to food and drinks, the alumni vehicles generated a lot of interest. The KIT22d even had a functioning LIDAR installed, which allowed the surroundings to be scanned live. Amazing to watch! But of course the highlight was still to come. The presentation of the KIT24! After a brief review of the past season and technical highlights of the newest racecar, the KIT24 was unveiled. 🎉 It was incredible for us to walk into the Audimax and see every row of enthusiastic sponsors, supporters, families and friends.
