As part of our Impact Report series, we'd like to introduce you to Dr. Montgomery Jaritz and Benedikt Heuer, co-founders and managing directors of IonKraft. 🤝 IonKraft has developed an alternative to multi-layer packaging, which will eventually be banned or taxed to comply with the EU Green Deal. Their plasma-based coating enables packaging manufacturers to create mono-material packaging that performs as well as multi-layer packaging. Thrilled to wrap up another successful year at Stage Two, Europe's top university startup competition! 🚀 As part of our Siemens Research and Innovation Ecosystem Aachen Arc, we have been proud supporters since day one of this event, and it’s always heartening to witness so many startups pitch their innovative ideas that positively change our world. These budding entrepreneurs play a vital role in shaping our future, and we see them as valuable ecosystem partners of ours as we work together to drive innovation to achieve a more sustainable future. Next to an on-stage panel discussion, two startup workshops and great conversations at our booth, we were delighted to present the Top Innovation Award to IonKraft, a startup working on 100% recyclable, high-barrier packaging using plasma technology. We still cannot believe what happened yesterday: We pitched at Stage Two, the largest European competition for startups from leading universities. All 50 teams were highly skilled, did fantastic presentations, and shared their visions of how to change the world for the better.🌍 We were astonished and super excited when we received five different awards from different juries:🏆 100k Investment Award from Earlybird Venture Capital 250k Investment Award from STS Ventures GmbH 800k Investment Award from HTGF | High-Tech Gründerfonds StageTwo Innovation Award from Siemens - 20k cash!
