“Hock di her”: Bavaria's Minister of Economic Affairs, Hubert Aiwanger, hosted CEOs of Chinese companies in Bavaria for an engaging dialogue. The focus was on current challenges, including the new EU tariffs on Chinese electric cars starting July 2024. Aiwanger emphasized, "Chinese companies bring innovation and jobs to Bavaria. Close exchanges with these leaders and Invest in Bavaria are crucial for mutual success." 🌏 The facts underline the impact: approximately 500 Chinese companies have established a presence in Bavaria, while 700 Bavarian companies operate in China. In 2023, the trade volume reached a record 53.1 billion euros, making China Bavaria's top trading partner. Over the past seven years, Invest in Bavaria has successfully supported 79 Chinese investment projects, creating around 2,000 new jobs in Bavaria. 📈 In October, Aiwanger's delegation will travel to Beijing and southern China, organised by Bayern International | Clarissa Roth. Major success for "Germany's Space Valley": NATO invests in Bavarian start-up Isar Aerospace 🚀 The Munich-based space start-up Isar Aerospace is one of the leading private space companies in Europe. NATO's significant investment of 65 million euros is intended to ensure Europe's technological sovereignty and expand the series production of launch vehicles. It is particularly noteworthy that Isar Aerospace was founded by three students from the Technische Universität München (Technical University of Munich) and now employs over 400 people from more than 50 nations. The start-up was also supported by Invest in Bavaria.🌍 Bavaria continues to impress as an innovation hub in the mobility & aerospace sector. Isar Aerospace also has access to valuable resources thanks to the Hightech Agenda Bayern, which invests 5.5 billion euros in research and development. Cross-Industry innovation at its best in #Bavaria! 🚀 The Vasc-on-Demand project from Würzburg is an outstanding example of ground-breaking research and technological innovation! Led by Dr Matthias Ryma at Universitätsklinikum Würzburg, the team is developing artificial blood vessels for 3D tissue models that are revolutionising medical research. This technology enables more precise predictions of drug effects and contributes significantly to the reduction of animal testing.💉 The project was recently awarded a significant grant of 2.5 million euros from the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA). Congratulations to the Vasc-on-Demand team! Bavaria is the ideal location for such cross-industry innovations, especially in the fields of "New Materials" and "Health, MedTech & Life Sciences". The collaboration between these sectors is clearly demonstrated in the Vasc-on-Demand project, in which advanced materials research meets state-of-the-art medical technology. Munich has been named the most attractive city in the world for quality of life, according to a survey by Monocle Magazine. 🏆🌍 Since 2000, Munich's population has surged by nearly a third, significantly outpacing other major urban centers such as Berlin, Hamburg, Köln, and Frankfurt, driven by its robust economic and intellectual appeal. Home to seven of Germany's 40 largest companies, Munich stands as the nation's economic powerhouse and invests heavily in talent development. In December, the city allocated an additional €668 million for building and renovating nurseries, pre-schools, and schools, contributing to a total budget of €8.4 billion since 2011—the largest initiative of its kind in Germany. Munich's academic excellence is reflected in its top-tier universities, the Technische Universität München (Technical University of Munich) and Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, and the city boasts the highest proportion of employees with academic degrees in Germany at 41%. This intellectual capital complements Munich's ranking as the healthiest city in the country. Upper Bavaria, home to Munich, leads the EU ranking for life expectancy among 38 German regions, with an impressive average of 82.3 years.
