🇪🇺 Today marks an important milestone as the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (#CSDDD) officially enters into force. Member states have 2 years to transpose the text into national law and in 3 years the requirements will apply to the first group of large companies. This landmark legislation is an important step in advancing human rights due diligence and promoting sustainable business practices by emphasizing the identification, prevention and remediation of sustainability risks. 🔊 Gesetzesentwurf zur nationalen Umsetzung der CSRD liegt vor Die Bundesregierung hat gestern ihren Gesetzesentwurf zur Umsetzung der Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (#CSRD) beschlossen. Der Entwurf soll nach der Sommerpause in den Bundestag eingebracht werden und Ende 2024 oder Anfang 2025 in Kraft treten. Hintergrund 🌱 Die CSRD verpflichtet Unternehmen, über ihren Umgang mit sozialen und ökologischen Herausforderungen zu berichten. 🌱 Der neue Nachhaltigkeitsbericht löst die sogenannte "nichtfinanzielle Erklärung" in Deutschland ab und erhöht die Zahl der berichtspflichtigen Unternehmen deutlich. 🌱 Um den Aufwand für Unternehmen zu minimieren, soll die CSRD-Richtlinie 1:1 in deutsches Recht umgesetzt werden. Zeitplan ⏲ Die neuen Regelungen sollen bereits ab 2024 für große kapitalmarktorientierte Unternehmen mit mehr als 500 Mitarbeitern gelten. ⏲ Weitere Unternehmensgruppen sollen schrittweise bis 2028 einbezogen werden. Kernpunkte des Gesetzesentwurfs 👉 Unternehmen, die auch nach dem Lieferkettensorgfaltspflichtengesetz (#LkSG) berichtspflichtig sind, müssen nur noch nach den European Sustainability Reporting Standards (#ESRS) berichten. 👉 Nachdem die Frist für die Einreichung der LkSG-Berichte zunächst auf den 31. Dezember 2024 verlängert worden war, wurde sie nun erneut auf den 31. Dezember 2025 verschoben. 👉 Die Pflicht zur Erstellung eines Prüfberichts zum Nachhaltigkeitsbericht entfällt.
