📌It’s #WavelengthWednesday! We are back with PART 2 of our educational series on how laser technology help in the fight against #cancer. There are many innovative ways where laser power is used in the fight against cancer. One of such methods is photodynamic therapy (or PDT) where lasers are used to activate light sensitive drugs to kill cancer cells. The integration of laser technology into cancer treatment exemplifies the incredible potential of combining medical innovation with cutting-edge science. 🔬As research and development continue, we can expect even more life-saving breakthroughs in the fight against cancer. Happy Independence Day! 🎆🇺🇸 Few days are celebrated in the USA quite like today's Independence Day. It symbolizes freedom, independence, and democracy — values that shape life in America. Yet independence means more than just historical separation from colonial powers. It also manifests in the freedom to travel independently — whether by plane, bus, or public transport. Freedom also means being able to decide as a company where to set up shop and where to source resources. At HÜBNER, we value this freedom, as it allows us to flexibly manage our business activities and be close to our American customers. 💪 Today especially, we are proud to be part of the American community. Our locations in #SanJose, CA, #MountPleasant, SC and #Dunlap, TN enable us to produce products such as lasers, gangway systems and more. To all Americans: We congratulate you on Independence Day and celebrate with you the freedom that unites us all. Happy Independence Day to all of us! 🌟🚌✈️ #IndependenceDay #4thofJuly #Freedom #Innovation #PublicTransport #HÜBNER Hubner Manufacturing Corporation, USA HÜBNER Photonics

📌It’s #WavelengthWednesday! We're back with our educational series on the impact of laser technology in our lives. Today, we're excited to share groundbreaking developments in #cancer research and treatment using cutting-edge laser technology. Researchers from Northeastern University pioneered a system called diffuse in vivo flow cytometry (#DIFC) to advance cancer research and metastasis monitoring. DIFC is a non-invasive optical technique where lasers are used to penetrate deep into the tissue and detect cancer cells floating in the bloodstream . 📽 #Watch the video to find out more about this exciting technique! This groundbreaking technique allows to monitor cancer progression and response to treatment in real-time. Unlike current invasive methods, DIFC doesn't require blood draws and early detection of these circulating tumor cells means patients can receive treatment sooner, leading to better prognoses. As laser manufacturers we're excited about the potential of DIFC to transform cancer detection and treatment! Thanks for sharing this Sebastien Guilbaud, it's really cool to see our #CoboltSkyra in action ✨ Cobolt AB, a part of HÜBNER Photonics
Apologies for the repost, it somehow vanished from LinkedIn: Just thought I'd show off the microscope I currently use as an everyday test rig, it has recently grown into an incredibly cool setup, getting close to my dream scope! The system is held together by our openFrame, initially an Imperial College London concept which Cairn Research Ltd and Cairn GmbH have adopted and significantly improved. The linear drive stage is an ITK Dr. Kassen GmbH/Cairn GmbH collaboration and works beautifully, do check them out if you're after a super-fast and precise stage! The Z focus drive was developed right here in Faversham and offers high performance at an affordable price. You can see right under the stage the openAF focus lock module, another Imperial / Cairn collaboration (read more here: https://lnkd.in/d_uV7pQD) which is being perfected as we speak for enhanced performance and ease of setup. On the fluorescence excitation side of things, one input carries a Bliq Photonics SPARQ HiLo module for easy and affordable optical sectioning of thick samples, powered by a HÜBNER Photonics Skyra 4 lines laser engine. The second input has our critical illuminator powered by an 89 North LDI laser engine, also 4 lines. This module provides a really nice and flat square excitation field by imaging the output of a square fiber right onto the sample, see in the comments for my first try at stitching a large mozaic :) On the detection, one output carries a prototype motorized TwinCam (Bypass, LP495 and LP 565 modes) into two Cairn Cellcam Kikkers, and the other ends onto a newly-acquired Sony FX30 camera for more aesthetic content, which I'm hoping to show off regularly in the near future! It's a pretty awesome concentration of imaging components and I thought that it showed really well what we're about: providing ever-evolving high performance imaging, happily interfacing with any device ours or not.
