Welcome to Hope for Men, an organization dedicated to supporting male survivors of sexual trauma worldwide. We believe that each survivor’s story is unique and deserves to be acknowledged, respected, and heard. We aim to reduce the stigma around male sexual trauma and promote acceptance and healing instead. (Men*/male* includes all individuals who identify as male at the time of the unwanted sexual experience.) Our founder, Tom, knows personally that the journey towards healing is complex and personal, and believes survivors should be empowered to make choices about their recovery. Our goal is to establish a safe, supportive online space where survivors can - Connect with other survivors and the right mental health practitioner - Share and openly discuss their stories - Grow, by finding true understanding, free dedicated resources, and actionable strategies to begin the healing process. We also aim to create a community for trauma-informed mental health practitioners who support male survivors, where they can - Connect with like-minded professionals - Share their expertise and experiences - Grow their practice reach and their expertise Our mission is to build a safe and welcoming support network that gives voice and agency to male survivors and their supporters. We believe survivors of sexualized violence can recover, support others to thrive, and be leaders for change. Join us and help make a difference. Visit us at https://www.hopeformen.org/

New What Happened to me Podcast Episode Alert! I had the privilege of sitting down with Thomas Garrod-Pullar, founder of MenAsWell, and Duncan Craig OBE, founder of We Are Survivors., for a powerful conversation about the journey of being founders of organizations that support male survivors of sexual trauma, especially as survivors ourselves. We discussed the unique challenges we face, the importance of creating safe spaces, and why it’s vital for us as men to be part of the solution, not just observers. Our focus isn’t on men’s rights, but on fostering healing, support, and building a community where every survivor feels heard and valued. Check out the video clip for a glimpse into our discussion. For the full episode, you can find the link in the first comment. Let’s keep pushing for change and support each other on this journey! #MentalHealth #SupportForMen #Survivors #HopeForMen

Facts
Facts In 2023, around 490,000 men died by suicide globally. That’s nearly 70% of all suicide deaths worldwide. This stark reality spans all regions, especially in high-income countries, where the rate for men can reach up to 14 per 100,000 population. Young men aged 15-29 and older men over 70 are particularly vulnerable. Factors like societal stigma, reluctance to seek help, and high-risk behaviors contribute to this alarming trend. It’s crucial that we address these issues, break the stigma, and provide the support that men need. Let’s use these facts to fuel our commitment to mental health awareness and support for men everywhere. #Facts #MensMentalHealth #BreakTheStigma #SuicidePrevention #MentalHealthAwareness
Suicide is a preventable tragedy, but it requires us ALL to take action—by listening without judgment, offering support, and breaking the stigma surrounding mental health.
September is Suicide Prevention Month Suicide is a preventable tragedy, but it requires us ALL to take action—by listening without judgment, offering support, and breaking the stigma surrounding mental health. This month is deeply personal to us at Hope for Men. We see how mental health struggles don’t discriminate—they can affect anyone, no matter your role, your achievements, or your financial situation. Men face barriers when it comes to seeking help, often due to societal pressures to “tough it out” alone. The reality is stark: while nearly half of men are willing to seek help, only a fraction actually receive it, despite accounting for 75% of global suicides. These aren’t just numbers—they represent REAL PEOPLE who need our support. Reaching out for help is a courageous step, not a sign of weakness. At Hope for Men, we’re dedicated to creating a space where men can find the support they need, without judgment and tailored to their unique challenges. Remember, if you or someone you know is struggling, you’re not alone. Help is available—don’t hesitate to reach out. There is always hope, for all. #MentalHealth #SuicidePreventionMonth #MensMentalHealth #MensHealthMatters #YouMatter #BreakTheStigma #MentalHealthAwareness #EndTheSilence #ItsOkayToTalk #ManUpSpeakUp #StrongerTogether #YouAreNotAlone
