“And so, the world seems destined soon to be all wrapped up in Ethocel – figuratively and almost literally, too.” (Dow, 1938). It’s time to re-write the story. 📝 We are thrilled to announce our participation in Samsara Eco’s USD 65m Series A led by global investment firm Temasek and Australian deep tech investment fund Main Sequence, with additional backing from Wollemi Capital, lululemon, DCVC & Titanium Ventures (formerly Telstra Ventures). This funding will bring Samsara Eco one step closer to eliminating plastic waste and ensuring it never ends up in landfill or incinerated again. ♻ 🎽 👚 🥤 We are honored to partner with such an outstanding team (Paul Riley) and technology and join their endeavor to end life of plastic waste. Stay tuned as Jan & Tobias are sharing Hitachi Ventures's investment rational soon. 📢 Aubrey Keller – Zhi Wei Lim – Phil Morle – James Hardiman - Paul Hunyor - Michael Perak – Albert Bielinko – Yogendra (Yogi) Dandapure #EndPlastic #EnzymaticEvolution #DirectRecycling #HitachiVentures
ANNOUNCEMENT: We are thrilled to announce that Samsara Eco has raised AUD$100/USD$65 million in its latest funding round. Led by global investment company, Temasek and Australian deep tech investment fund, Main Sequence, as well as a cohort of new and existing backers including Wollemi Capital, lululemon, Hitachi Ventures, Titanium Ventures (formerly Telstra Ventures) and DCVC, the funding brings us one step closer to eliminating plastic waste, and ensuring it never ends up in landfill or incinerated again. The capital will help scale our enzymatic recycling capabilities, with new commercial facilities to be built in Southeast Asia in the next few years. The facilities will recycle tonnes of plastic waste like discarded textiles and packaging, to produce tens of thousands of tonnes of monomers (the molecular building blocks of plastics), which will be turned into brand new products, creating a truly circular loop. We will expand our library of enzymes beyond polyester, Nylon 6,6 and Nylon 6, in a process that has a substantially lower carbon footprint than that used in the creation of virgin plastics. #circularity #scaleup #innovation #recycling #globalimpact For more: https://lnkd.in/gVQ_Twf8
