Curious to take a peek inside one of the world’s biggest ConRo ships? 👀 The Atlantic Star recently docked at our HHLA terminal UNIKAI, the largest facility specialising in rolling cargo in the Port of Hamburg ⚓ After an extensive refit, the 296-metre-long vessel can now carry 3.800 containers and accommodate 1.300 vehicles, along with oversized and heavy ro-ro cargo. With spacious decks, it is built for flexibility, transporting everything from cars, SUVs, large vehicles to heavy or bulky cargo. Nǐ hǎo from Shanghai 👋🏻 As a leading logistics network provider, we’re proud to once again participate in the China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai – a key event for staying ahead of market trends and reinforcing our relationships with partners in China. In today’s challenging times, fostering open dialogue and mutual understanding is more important than ever. During CIIE, our team is having meaningful discussions with shippers, shipping lines, and logistics providers, all focused on building a resilient logistics network. We also joined the German Logistic Round Table, hosted by the Hamburg Liaison Office, where we shared insights and explored new avenues for cooperation. If you're around, too, stop by! Our team is looking forward to connecting with you. #HHLA #ThePowerofNetworks #logistics #CIIE #Shanghai

Congratulations, Hapag-Lloyd AG 🍾 Today we celebrated the christening of Hapag-Lloyd’s new vessel, the Hamburg Express, at our Container Terminal Burchardkai in Hamburg. Led by Eva Maria Tschentscher, wife of Hamburg’s First Mayor, Peter Tschentscher, this ceremony marked the addition of one of the largest container ships in the world, measuring 400 metres with room for 23,660 standard containers. With dual-fuel technology, the Hamburg Express can run on LNG and is prepared for future non-fossil fuels like e-methane, contributing to reduced CO2 emissions and greener shipping. We’re proud to support innovations like this at HHLA, moving towards more sustainable logistics every day. Here’s to smooth seas and safe journeys for the Hamburg Express. May she always sail safely to ports around the world and return to her home port of Hamburg time and again 💙 #HHLA #ThePowerofNetworks #HapagLloyd

Our multi-purpose terminal HHLA TK Estonia in the Port of Muuga is not only a great place to spot beautiful sunsets, but an important hub in the Baltics and an excellent test field for digital and sustainable port logistics. Here are some highlights: ✨Testing Autonomous Driving: In collaboration with Munich-based start-up FERNRIDE, we have been testing semi-autonomous tractors since 2023. 🚛 Digital Check-in: Our self-service terminals at the gate barriers enable a fully automated process, eliminating the need for paper or checks for drivers transporting general and bulk goods. 📥 Automatic entry and scale systems: The lorry load is automatically weighed and recorded by the system both when entering and leaving the truck. 🌁 Advanced loading equipment: Our new Mantsinen 120 DER mobile hydrocrane, handling up to 620 tonnes of bulk cargo per hour, combines electric and diesel power for top-notch efficiency and flexibility. A first of its kind in the Baltics! #HHLA #ThePowerofNetworks #Estonia #logistics #automation Photo credits: Port of Tallin

📷 Throwback to Hydrogen Technology Expo Europe in Hamburg: As we at HHLA gear up for a climate-neutral future, we didn’t want to miss the chance to engage with industry experts, explore the latest advancements, and strengthen our commitment to decarbonising logistics 🌍💧 Since 2022, we’ve been collaborating with over 40 partner companies worldwide to develop market-ready hydrogen-powered vehicles and equipment. Our colleague Karin Debacher, Head of Hydrogen Projects at HHLA, brought her insights and experience to the stage as an expert speaker on two key panels. Her key takeaways: ✨ Hamburg is emerging as a major player in the hydrogen value chain integrating green hydrogen across various sectors. The Port of Hamburg acts as a key catalysts for green fuel adoption. 🚀 Even though the industry is moving slower than expected, we are seeing progress: Green hydrogen production has grown by 50% in the last three years, and investment decisions in electrolysis projects across Europe have quadrupled. 📈 Prioritising tangible projects and fostering collaboration across diverse sectors is driving innovation in hydrogen. #HHLA #ThePowerofNetworks #logistics
