AI is already changing the rules of battlefield, and Europe has not only the opportunity but also the duty to lead in the deployment of Defence AI at scale. The Eastern Flank is of critical importance to the security of European democracies and at the heart of our mission. Following the establishment of Helsing Estonia we are working to rapidly build our presence in the region. The Estonian Minister of Defence, Hanno Pevkur, and Helsing's Co-CEO and Co-founder Dr. Gundbert Scherf signed a joint statement on AI-driven defence collaboration today. Minister Pevkur noted: “The new security environment in Europe requires a determined response from governments as well as the defence industry to be ahead of the curve in developing and fielding modern defence capabilities." Helsing tests real-time AI capabilities in space. Helsing today announced that it has successfully deployed advanced AI capabilities on YAM-6, a satellite node part of Loft Orbital space infrastructure. The extended tests focus on real-time onboard radio frequency signal detection and their characterisation enabling upcoming military grade Signal Intelligence and Cognitive Anti-Jamming applications. We are delighted to welcome Burak Ata to Helsing. Burak joins us from Volocopter, where he was Head of Development Quality Assurance and instrumental in achieving the certification for Volocopter's eVTOL. Burak previously held roles at Lilium, BNA -a BAE joint venture - and local airworthiness authorities. He is also currently chairing EUROCAE Working Group 117 “Aviation Software Standards” that develops the required standards to support Aviation Software, inclusively addressing all aviation stakeholders. As Helsing's Head of Certification and Assurance, Burak will lead the company's certification and compliance efforts. "I am thrilled to be joining Helsing at such an exciting time", said Burak Ata. "The pace of innovation in defence is accelerating relentlessly, and I look forward to using my experience in the air domain to help Helsing achieve its mission to protect our democracies."
