𝗛𝗕𝗢𝗫 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗦-𝗧𝗖𝗦 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 We recently attended this year's ECOS-TCS congress in #Paris to stay updated on the latest topics in the field of extracorporeal support in acute respiratory failure patients, meet our medical advisors, and discuss our vision of miniaturized respiratory assist (MiRA) with clinicians.   The unmet clinical need for dedicated extracorporeal mid-flow solutions with new technical features, such as ours, was presented compellingly by Prof. Luigi Camporota from the UK in his talk “ECCO2R - What criteria for a future trial”.   𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗦-𝗧𝗖𝗦 The international ECOS-TCS congress took place on June 24 and 25, 2024 in Paris. The congress focuses on extracorporeal organ support (ECOS) and temporary circulatory support (TCS). The ECOS-TCS offers discussions on the state of the art in extracorporeal gas exchange procedures such as venovenous ECMO and ECCO2R in acute respiratory failure. Participants discuss and learn about the latest advancements in systems to support or replace organs used to treat sepsis, trauma or cardiac, respiratory, renal or liver disease. International physicians from multiple disciplines come together to discuss with leading experts in the field.    𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗠𝗶𝗥𝗔 We are developing an extracorporeal medical device for miniaturized respiratory assist (MiRA) that can be used in combination with non-invasive or invasive mechanical ventilation to provide gas exchange independent of the lungs to prevent further injury. 𝗛𝗕𝗢𝗫 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗮𝘁 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘇𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗳 (𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗿𝘂𝗻) Part of the HBOX Therapies team with family and friends attended this year’s charity run (Benefizlauf Aachen) on 23rd of June and had a great time with perfect weather. The proceeds of the charity run were distributed to the charities “breakfast for kids”, “TABEA Tagesbeschäftigung Aachen e.V.” and the “Hospizstiftung Region Aachen” and we are happy that our team members not only got physically active by participating, but also supported local initiatives.   𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘇𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗳 𝗔𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗻 The charity run has been taking place since 1999, shortly before the millennium, and the number of participants has grown year on year. More than 1,000 runners, walkers, wheelchairs, hobby and team athletes indulge in this great family event. The charity run is a different kind of run, where the focus is not on the fastest time or the winners, but on the joy with which all participants take part.

𝗛𝗕𝗢𝗫 𝗮𝘁 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼 𝗘𝗟𝗦𝗢 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗞𝗿𝗮𝗸𝗼𝘄 Last week we attended the #EuroELSO congress in #Krakow to meet our current medical advisors, get to know new ones, and discuss our vision of miniaturized respiratory assist (MiRA) with clinicians and industry. We are thrilled that we were featured as one of the upcoming technologies in the “Technology and Innovation” session! Jutta Arens from University of Twente mentioned us and our HBOX technology in her talk “Research status & development trend of ECMO devices”. Additionally, we presented our technology during a poster presentation and received encouraging insights from clinicians. We are very happy to have been selected for the #DATIPilot funding of the Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung together with our project partners at the Uniklinik RWTH Aachen (AME - Institute of Applied Medical Engineering and the Clinic of Cardiac Surgery). During the project we will investigate the potential of our hyperbaric blood oxygenation to support tumor therapy. On Monday evening Moritz Benjamin Immohr from Uniklinik RWTH Aachen and our Co-Founder & Managing Director Dr. Matthias Menne presented the project at the first roadshow event of the #DATIPilot in Essen.    𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗣𝗶𝗹𝗼𝘁: DATIPilot aims to make better use of Germany's innovative strength and accelerate the development of technological and social innovations. We are very proud and grateful for this achievement.
