A Day of Steel and Smiles! 😍 On October 3, our GMH Gruppe plant #Georgsmarienhütte GmbH proudly opened its doors for #MausTüröffnerTag, and it was truly a day to remember! We had the pleasure of welcoming 40 enthusiastic #children, whose curiosity and excitement filled the air as they dove into the world of #steelproduction. From witnessing the transformation of scrap into sparkling steel in our massive electric furnace, to enjoying a thrilling ride in our new switcher locomotive – every moment was an adventure! 😎 The day was packed with highlights, but the magic didn’t stop there: Little heroes suited up in protective gear to step in front of the camera – a scene they’ll never forget! Water games with our plant fire department added an extra splash of fun! 👉You can find exciting insights into our steelworks here: www.gmh-gruppe.de/en Yasin Abay, the event organizer, summed it up perfectly: "The children's shining eyes show how much fun they had on this day. 🌟 Team Action Day 2024 at GMH Gruppe in #Georgsmarienhütte: Stronger together, shaping our site! 🌟 Last weekend, around 60 motivated #GreenSteelPioneers from various departments at our #Georgsmarienhütte site teamed up under the sunny skies to beautify our workplace. 💪✨ Under the motto “On the Visitor Path – safe and with a good view!” the day was not just about hard work, but also about living team spirit. Our apprentices transformed their break area into a green oasis 🌿💺, while the team from #GMHBahn Service GmbH created a new, cozy seating area. 🌳 Every contribution counted – from planting over 5,400 ground covers, building insect hotels, to upgrading the bike shelter 🚴♂️🔧. 🎉 GMH Gruppe Awarded for Sustainability! 🌍  We, the GMH Gruppe at the #Georgsmarienhütte site, have been honored with the #DecarbonizationAward by our partner MIRECO for our dedicated efforts in #sustainability and CO2 reduction! 🏆✨ By utilizing circular raw materials such as magnesia and alumina, we were able to save over 9,000 tons of CO2 in 2023 alone. This is a significant milestone on our path to decarbonization and a major #success for our environmental footprint! 🌱 To accept this special award, Marc- Oliver Arnold, Plant Director #Georgsmarienhütte GmbH welcomed Nenad Tanasic, CEO of MIRECO, Patrick Stahl, Director Sales & Product-/Material Management MIRECO, and Christian Köhler, Sales Circular Raw Materials MIRECO, to our #Georgsmarienhütte site. Thanks to MIRECO's CERO Waste Recycling concepts, we not only reduce waste but also reintegrate valuable raw materials back into our steel production, enabling us to operate more sustainably and efficiently.
