Our mission is to build a computer inspired by the human brain to fuel the progress of humankind.
Info
Current hardware for artificial intelligence is inefficient. For today's supercomputer center, it takes a long time, huge datasets and the energy of a whole power plant to train a high-end AI model, resulting in high costs and unsustainability. The problem is rooted in the fundamental architecture of today’s digital hardware itself, since it has nothing in common with the way the human brain works. GEMESYS Technologies offers an analog chip design based on the same information-processing mechanisms as the human brain. This enables AI hardware vendors to distribute a novel chip, that trains neural networks 20,000 times more energy-efficient than current technology. It not only significantly reduces the cost, time and amount of data required to train a neural network, but also increases overall quality as well as performance. Its small size and high energy efficiency allows it to be embedded in nearly every device, enabling decentralized on the edge training, data processing and decision making.

✨ Stage Two Wildcard Event! ✨ 🎙 On September 19th, the Stage Two Wildcard Event took place at O-Werk Bochum, organized together with the Worldfactory Start-up Center (WSC) and RWTH Aachen University. 🌟 The event began with an inspiring keynote by our CFO Moritz Schmidt. Last year, GEMESYS secured the Atlantic Labs Investments & Stage Two Movement Award. Additionally, Marc Filerman from Start2Group enriched the event with a speech about deep insights into internationalization and fundamental growth strategies! 🏆 The main part of the event were the twelve international start-ups that competed in front of an expert jury, aiming to win one of the four golden wildcards to the grand finale in Berlin on October 31st. After intense pitches, the following teams came out on top: · FORMeat (Female Team) · SEALEO (Impact) · eGodziny (HR Tech) · nextract energy (Industrial Innovation) 🌟 Events like this are always a great opportunity to meet with partners and other startups in the ecosystem. This time, Moritz and Robin had a great time with our lawyers from Orrick Ilona Schütz and Martha Verhaelen outside the billable lawyer world. 🙌 Congratulations to the winners, and a huge thank you to the entire event team! Special thanks to Pia Christine Otto, Vanessa Vaughn, and Michelle Twardzik for the excellent moderation and organization, and thank you to Michael Schwettmann for the amazing photos. #StageTwo #Startups #Innovation #WildcardEvent #BerlinFinale

🧠 One key challenge in the race to build more efficient AI systems is overcoming the bottlenecks of AI hardware. Unlike the human brain, which operates seamlessly with incredible energy efficiency and parallel processing, traditional digital AI hardware faces significant limitations in power consumption, scalability, and real-time performance. 🌱 At GEMESYS, we’re reimagining AI hardware by looking to nature’s blueprint: the human brain. By leveraging analog integrated circuits, we aim to create AI systems that can perform training and inference directly at the edge. This approach mirrors the brain’s capacity for local processing, enabling fast, low-power AI solutions that don’t rely on massive cloud infrastructure. We aim to build AI that thinks locally and acts efficiently, driving innovation in edge applications from robotics to IoT. 🚀 The future of AI isn’t just digital—it’s analog, efficient, and inspired by nature. #AIHardware #EdgeComputing #AnalogAI #EnergyEfficiency Dr.-Ing. 🌟 Two weeks ago, Moritz Schmidt and Dr.-Ing. Enver Solan spent four days, from 09.09–12.09 at the AI Hardware & Edge AI Summit 2024 in the Silicon Valley. At their booth, they were able to showcase our technology with a product demo. They also used the amazing buzz of the event in the context of AI hardware to reaffirm our technological hypothesis: GEMESYS' approach is not only groundbreaking but also uniquely innovative, positioning us as a first mover in the edge AI training market. This distinct advantage sets us apart from competitors and opens new possibilities for AI deployment at the edge. Challenges like data drift, personalization and continuous learning remain unresolved for inferencing companies, but our self-learning chip provides a solution. 🎯 We are thrilled by the strong interest in our Edge AI training use cases and the amazing event that went by with 2,500 attendees, 200 speakers, and 120 partners. The event was all about the drive to build AI faster, more efficiently, and more affordable, where Moritz and Enver could connect with potential investors, pilot customers, and cooperation partners. 🚀 A special thank you goes to Thomas Noszczak and Kisaco Research for organizing the event. See you next year! #EdgeAI #AIHardware #SiliconValley #Networking #AIEvent

🛠️ In the context of neural networks and AI, network topologies refer to the structure and organization of how different layers of neurons in a network are connected. The importance of these topologies can be understood by thinking about them as the "design" of the neural network, which determines how well / efficiently the AI learns and performs on a task. 💻 The exciting thing is that today's topologies are more likely to be modeled based on existing hardware properties, such as the densely connected layers of neurons, which are ultimately beneficial for execution on a GPU. However, the natural model of AI, namely the brain, shows us that there are more efficient ways to implement neural networks than such structures. The brain's sparsely networked neurons are hierarchically connected in a "small-world topology." Our novel AI hardware allows topologies inspired by biology to be efficiently implemented and executed, particularly the small-world topology. ⚡ This feature of the GEMESYS technology is one of the key elements in our journey towards achieving the energy efficiency of the human brain in a technological manner, inspiring us about the future of AI. #ArtificialIntelligence #NeuralNetworks #AI #TechInnovation #BiologyInspired #SmallWorldTopology #EnergyEfficiency #FutureOfAI Dr.-Ing.
