** Additional Driverless Cup Slots & Handbook Version 1.1 ** The #DriverlessCup targets teams with a vehicle which already is capable of running driverless autocross and trackdrive. It acknowledges the current technological advance of the DV teams and incentivizes further development of the DV systems. Going into 2024, we expected higher demand for the Driverless Cup and increased the number of available slots compared to 2023. However, our expectations were exceeded as more teams have implemented autonomous driving functionality. Therefore, with today's release of version 1.1 of the #FSG2024 #CompetitionHandbook, we are further increasing the number of DC slots. Instead of the originally planned 35, FSG 2024 will offer 42 slots for the Driverless Cup, allowing half of all registered teams to take part. For additional changes that were made in version 1.1, please check the changelog on page 2. One of those changes is a relaxation of the entry restrictions for the DC autocross track walk. Entry to the track walk for the DC autocross will (additionally to the dynamic vests) be granted based on the entry cards for the charging area. This is to allow simultaneous participation in the manual acceleration for the vehicle by freeing up the dynamic vests. **FSG MathWorks Modeling and Simulation Award 2024** The MathWorks Modeling and Simulation Award is designed to recognize and reward teams that excel in utilizing MathWorks tools for the design of their electric and autonomous vehicles in the Formula Student Germany 2024 competition. The goal is to have each participating team share how they use MathWorks tools and work to adopt industry-grade model-based design. The award determination process consists of two stages: evaluation of a detailed report and assessment of a formal presentation. The teams will be scored on following criteria: Vehicle Dynamics Powertrain Control Design and Tuning Driverless/Autonomous Systems Verification and Validation The top three teams that demonstrate the most effective use of MathWorks software will be honored with cash prizes: 3,000 USD for the first place, 2,500 USD for the second place, and 1,500 USD for the third place. news: https://n.fs-g.org/1347

** FSG Registration Quiz 2024 & World Ranking List Updated ** Tomorrow is that time again. Registration for this season starts with a challenging quiz for EV teams. The **FSG Quiz** starts as usual at 13:00 CET. The answers and feedback will be available over the weekend and the ranking in the quiz on Monday. So make sure to memorize the rules & be prepared to save your spot for the 18th edition of FSG! Good luck to all participating teams! Furthermore, we would like to announce that the **World Ranking Lists** has been updated for the 2023 season. They are based on 324 CV and 411 EV results at 21 competitions in 12 countries. The top five EV teams get a registration slot at FSG 2024. We congratulate Westsächsische Hochschule Zwickau (WHZ Racing Team) and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (Illini Motorsports)  for their overall championchip in the electric and combustion class! This year, official competitions are expected to take place in 25 countries. That is a new record.
