🌍 Munich Climate Tech Ecosystem Market Map 🌍
Munich’s climate tech ecosystem is bustling with innovation across various stages and sectors! Right in time for the Bits & Pretzels, AENU is publishing it's first climate tech city map - the Munich edition. Stay tuned for more to come!
Some key facts:
🌱 With more than 50 climate tech companies currently in the early pre-seed and seed stages, the Munich Climate Tech Ecosystem is growing rapidly!
🌱 At the same time, the ecosystem is not nascent anymore. Almost two dozen companies have already scaled to Series B or a later funding stage, amongst them well-known companies such as tado°, Capmo, IntegrityNext, TWAICE, everdrop, or Lilium.
🌱 The energy sector seems to be the most popular sector for Munich-based founders with numerous start-ups represented across all funding stages, whilst the transportation sector has the highest number of scale-ups, e.g. ChargeX, Sono Motors, Qwello , The Mobility House.
🌱 Planet A Foods makes sure that next to all the fancy tech, Munich's start-up ecosystem also has a bit of delicious chocolate and dolce vita vibe to offer.
🌱 The latest entrant in our list is energy start-up Zählerfreunde, the latest reflected funding round is from a company working on a true moonshot, Marvel Fusion - their 70m Series B funding round was published yesterday.
🌱 Key ecosystem partners such as Technical University of Munich with its various start-up programs are crucial to ramping up the city as one of the country’s most active innovation hubs.
As proud investors in our Munich-based portfolio companies OCELL and Entrix, AENU hopes to be part of many more great startups growing out of the beautiful Bavarian capital!
