Are you already an expert in EU Taxonomy KPIs or could you use a refresher? Here's what you need to know about turnover, CapEx, and OpEx 💡 A crucial step in EU Taxonomy reporting is disclosing three essential KPIs. Companies must disclose the proportion of their turnover, capital expenditures (CapEx), and operating expenditures (OpEx) of each economic activity that is taxonomy-eligible and taxonomy-aligned. 𝗧𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 👉 Meaning: Measures the proportion of a company's revenue that comes from EU Taxonomy-aligned activities 👉 Calculation: Divide the revenue from these aligned activities by the total net turnover (which excludes taxes and sales rebates). If an activity supports multiple environmental objectives, the turnover should be allocated accordingly to prevent double counting. 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗘𝘅 👉 Meaning: Reflects the proportion of a company’s capital investments in assets or processes that are aligned with the EU Taxonomy, including expenditures on property, equipment, intangible assets, leases, and more. 👉 Calculation: Divide the CapEx for taxonomy-aligned activities by the total CapEx. Similar to turnover, if an investment supports multiple environmental objectives, the CapEx should be appropriately split. 𝗢𝗽𝗘𝘅 👉 Meaning: Covers the day-to-day expenses necessary to maintain and operate assets, including research and development, maintenance, and renovations. 👉 Calculation: Identify expenses directly tied to these activities, then divide by the total operational expenses. This includes costs that contribute to future CapEx plans or that enable low-carbon operations within a specific timeframe. #eutaxonomy #capex #opex #reporting

To all CSRD reporters: This new guideline for the description, identification, and formulation of IROs according to the ESRS provides a helpful overview 💡 The Deutscher Nachhaltigkeitskodex (DNK) has published their new guide "Impacts, Risks and Opportunities (IROs) – Guidance on Description, Identification & Formulation". These guidelines are intended to support companies in understanding company-specific IROs as part of their materiality assessment. IRO identification allows relevant topics to be identified and targeted measures to be formulated to fulfill regulatory requirements and promote sustainable development.
