Info

EHEDG: food safety through hygienic design. With a common goal to advance hygiene, improve food safety, and increase cleaning efficiency and effectiveness during the processing and packaging of food products, EHEDG (European Hygienic Engineering & Design Group) brings together stakeholders in the food supply chain. Besides practical guidelines, test procedures and certification, training and education, EHEDG offers an exchange platform for global food professionals to combine collective experience and improve hygienic design. Founded in 1989, EHEDG is a foundation that has lead the way in guiding the food industry in hygienic design. The European Hygienic Engineering and Design Group (EHEDG) was founded in 1989 as a non-profit consortium of equipment manufacturers, food producers, suppliers to the food industry, research institutes and universities, public health authorities and governmental organisations. The principal goal of EHEDG is the promotion of safe food by improving hygienic engineering and design in all aspects of food manufacture. EHEDG actively supports European legislation, which requires that handling, preparation processing and packaging of food is done hygienically using hygienic machinery and in hygienic premises according to the food hygiene directive, the machinery directive and the food contact materials directive (see EC Directive 2006/42/EC for Machinery, EN 1672-2 and EN ISO 14159 on Hygiene requirements for the design of machinery). Equipment manufacturers and users are responsible to implement these requirements and EHEDG provides them guidance on the essential hygienic design standards in compliance with national and international legislation. The EHEDG mission is defined as: "EHEDG enables safe food production by providing guidance as an authority on hygienic engineering and design".

  • 🌟 Introducing KEOFITT as our Platinum Sponsor at the EHEDG World Congress 2024!🌟 We are thrilled to announce that Keofitt is a Platinum Sponsor for the EHEDG World Congress 2024 in Nantes! 🎉 Keofitt is renowned for their expertise in #hygienicsampling, ensuring the highest quality and safety standards in the food and beverage industry. Let's give Keofitt a warm welcome as we look forward to a successful collaboration! “Our goal is to ultimately educate the industry in understanding the pitfalls of sampling and to suggest better sampling procedures. Unfortunately, there are many inaccurate, erroneous and even dangerous notes, instructions and videos that purport to show how one should go about taking a sample from a production line. We would like to raise awareness on this topic and, given our experience and expertise in this area, provide solutions.” 🔗𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐊𝐞𝐨𝐟𝐢𝐭𝐭 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞: https://lnkd.in/eQVd-4Tg 🎈𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 '89 𝐨𝐫 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐢𝐬? • 🔖𝐇𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐦𝐞𝐭 Robert Stelling?   Join us at the EHEDG World Congress 2024, where Robert Stelling, the Director of Professional Cleaning & Hygiene at Interclean will take the stage as a breakout session speaker!   His presentation, titled “Shining a light on the global cleaning industry” will bridge best practices and global trends in the professional cleaning and hygiene industry with food safety and hygienic design. It will provide valuable insights into the critical areas of training and education, emphasizing their role in fostering behavioural change, promoting sustainability, and much more!   Given his expertise, we asked him: "𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐲𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐛𝐞 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐲𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧?”   “There are many things and practices to learn. For example, sustainability and ESG practices, ways to work efficiently and effectively, combatting labour issues, saving water and energy, IoT, and AI solutions (to understand what, where, and when to clean). However, I want to emphasise training and education across the board, not just for the cleaners, but for all employees where cleaning must be done. This is with the aim of raising awareness amongst, for instance, restaurant staff, front-line workers, nurses, cleaners, etc., as everyone should understand the importance of a clean and hygienic environment. This is with the aim of building a strong safety culture in which you never cut corners.”   👤 𝐒𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐑𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐜?
