Visiting Konfidi in Roeselare 🇧🇪 Our recent trip to Konfidi in Roeselare, Belgium, was an exciting step forward for Diatope GmbH. The connection was made at the last Hasselt Diamond Workshop, and we were eager to see their laser cutting technology in action. Despite a train delay, Dr. Johannes Lang and I arrived safely and enjoyed a wonderful dinner with Lars Benesch and Lode De Schepper. The next day, we visited Konfidi's headquarters near Brussels, where they demonstrated their state-of-the-art laser cutting system with micrometer resolution. For quantum technology applications, it is crucial that the diamond material and its surface near the cutting edges remain undamaged. Konfidi's owner and tech expert, Lode, showcased their system's capabilities on diamond substrates we brought along. As a delightful touch, we received some classic Belgian gifts - delicious beer and chocolate. 🍫🍻 Looking forward to integrating this cutting-edge technology into our work at diatope GmbH! #diatope #Konfidi #LaserCutting #QuantumTechnology #Diamond #Belgium #Networking

How do the surface properties of synthetic diamonds affect the quantum characteristics of NV centers? Designing an experiment to explore this phenomenon is the focus of the QCI StarQ project with Markus Mohr, Jakob Buchheim, and their team from the Deutsches Zentrum für Luft-und Raumfahrt e.V.'s Institute for Quantum Technology. In the QCI StarQ project of the DLR Quantencomputing-Initiative, the influence of different surface modifications and plasma treatments on NV center properties is investigated. Tailored surface modifications can stabilize NV centers, which have great potential in combination with 13C nuclear spins to form quantum computing registers and qubits. Our role at diatope GmbH is to supply custom diamond material featuring NV centers at various depths. We are developing novel techniques to grow 12C enriched diamond material, free from spin noise, to host NV centers at depths ranging from a few to several tens of nanometers. We are pleased to announce the successful development of the first batch of NV diamonds, meticulously designed to meet the project requirements and thoroughly characterized by our fabrication team. #QuantumTechnology #NVcenters #Diamond #QuantumComputing #diatope #DLR #QCIStarQ

Can the surface properties of synthetic diamonds affect the quantum characteristics of (near-surface) NV centers? How should an experiment to measure this phenomenon look like? Finding answers to these intriguing questions is the focus of the QCI StarQ with Markus Mohr, Jakob Buchheim and their team from the Deutsches Zentrum für Luft-und Raumfahrt e.V.'s Institute for Quantum Technology. In the QCI StarQ project of the DLR Quantencomputing-Initiative (https://qci.dlr.de/starq), the influence of different surface modification and plasma treatments on (near-surface) NV center properties is investigated. Tailored modification of the chemical composition of the surface layer of diamond can lead to stabilization of NV centers which have great potential in combination with e.g. 13C nuclear spins to form quantum computing registers and qubits. The role of the team of quantum researchers within the Deutsches Zentrum für Luft-und Raumfahrt e.V. is the diamond surface modification, analysis of the chemical composition as well as the characterization of the NV center properties as part of the DLR Quantencomputing-Initiative. Diatope GmbH was commissioned to supply tailormade diamond material featuring NV centers in various depths from the surface. Novel fabrication techniques are developed to grow 12C enriched diamond material, free from spin noise and acting as a perfect host for carefully created NV centers in various depths ranging from a few to a few tens of nanometers. We are happy to share that we have successfully developed the first batch of NV diamonds, well designed to meet the project requirements and thoroughly characterized by our fabrication team including Yarden Hagian and Allegra de Gleria Clark. Have you ever wondered about the future of photonics and quantum technologies? 🤔 I recently attended the Photonics BW e.V. members' meeting, where we discussed the exciting expansion of their repertoire to include quantum technologies. The potential in this field is incredibly promising, though there's still a long journey ahead before these innovations can reach the mass market. In today's world, collaboration is essential. That's why we network—to discover new trends, identify emerging technologies, and contribute our expertise. Since the beginning of this year, we've been proud members of Photonics BW. It was a pleasure to introduce Diatope GmbH as a new partner during our first members' meeting. A big thank you to Katrin Kobe and Bosch Quantum Sensing from Ludwigsburg for hosting the event. How do you see the impact of quantum technologies evolving? 💬👇🏼 Andreas Ehrhardt Andre Salzinger  #diatopeGmbH #PhotonicsBW #QuantumTechnology #Networking #Innovation

1️⃣ Step One in CVD Diamond Growth for Quantum Technology 🟪 I am excited to unveil the first step of our animation series on CVD diamond production at Diatope GmbH! CVD, or chemical-vapor-deposition, allows us to grow diamond layers with precise isotopic composition. These isotopically-enriched diamonds are foundational for groundbreaking quantum technology applications at room temperature. By carefully controlling the type of methane used, we significantly reduce the 13C isotope content in our homoepitaxial layers, achieving near-perfect '12C enrichment'. This process creates a 'magnetic vacuum' by excluding unwanted nuclear spins in the diamond lattice, making it ideal for quantum applications. For quantum computing, NV centers need long coherence times and must interact with nearby nuclear spins. To achieve this, we create NV centers within a clean 12C environment while strategically adding single 13C atoms. Our technology places these 13C atoms with sub-nanometer precision, enabling the creation of scalable qubit registers in diamond on demand. Stay tuned for more insights into our CVD diamond journey and its revolutionary quantum tech applications! 💎 #diatopeGmbH #CVDdiamonds #QuantumTechnology #diatope #Innovation #QuantumComputing
