Understanding the risk and impact of excipient variability is key for successful formulation development. During her latest presentation at PharmSci 360, Pauline van der Wijst - Janssen, Global Technical Lead at DFE Pharma, discussed how bid data analysis can be used to identify sources of variation and to identify which of those sources matter. All production processes, including the production processes for excipients, have some inevitable degree of variation. Variation does not mean a process is out of control, but it means that not all batches are exactly the same. Open communication between suppliers and users of excipients can bring a lot of value on top of the supply of material. Interested in learning more?
