Structuring the world of information in real time.
Info
We’re a Berlin based tech company on a mission to structure the world of information and make it actionable in real time. When we noticed that trust, objectivity, comprehensiveness were missing in the world of individual and commercial information consumption, we set out to solve that issue. To do this, we developed a new proprietary AI — which we call DeepAI — that enables us to analyze and structure the world of information in real time. On top of this structure we have built two products: 1. deep•news, which aggregates the news of the world, to combine them in a trustworthy and engaging experience. 2. deep•pulse, which objectively quantifies and simplifies public perception, to make it actionable in real time. When developing deep•pulse we consulted with actual PR-, Branding-, Communications-, and Marketing professionals from some of the world’s leading agencies deep•news provides a trustworthy and personalized news experience. deep•news presents the most relevant stories on any topic and enriches them with different perspectives and background information. It prioritizes high-quality content and filters out clickbait. With that we’re solving the core problem — missing quality & trust — and are making the experience more engaging than any news product out there.

In his latest piece, CEO Maxim Nitsche reveals how Netflix cleverly leverages media insights to maximise audience engagement.
This is how Netflix schedules its marketing for maximum attention 📈 Netflix’s 3 Body Problem drew in 15M views during its first week. This success is due not only to great production value, but also to some savvy marketing… 🟧 Using our media monitoring tool DeepPulse, we measured a surge of coverage surrounding Netflix’s 3 Body Problem, coinciding with the series premiere on March 21st. 🪲There was another spike in coverage on March 26th, when Netflix launched an experiential marketing campaign. In over 30 countries, the ominous message “You Are Bugs” hijacked digital screens and billboards, referencing a pivotal scene from Episode 5. 🕔 Interestingly, this happened five days after the premiere, which, according to the company’s 2016 ‘Netflix & Binge’ report, is the global average time taken to finish a series. It seems highly probable that Netflix deliberately timed the campaign to coincide with this global average. 📣 Once the initial audience finished watching the series, the marketing campaign amplified their conversations. The organic buzz this created encouraged new viewers to start watching, ensuring sustained interest in the series. 🔄 On closer inspection, this deliberate scheduling strategy crops up repeatedly in Netflix’s marketing efforts. For instance, Netflix’s Streamberry campaign launched exactly five days after the premiere of Black Mirror Season 6. 🤑 Netflix’s strategy shows how powerful media insights can be for maximising audience engagement. 👋 If you want to learn more about DeepPulse and these insights, don't hesitate to send me a note. Deep was thrilled to be at this year's TRANSFORM conference. Read on to discover our team's key learnings and impressions, from the Innovators' Pitch to inspiring talks on the future of AI.
Had a fantastic time representing Deep at TRANSFORM 2024! Maxim Nitsche took to the stage in the Innovators' Pitch competition, showcasing how DeepNews is revolutionising the media landscape. Interestingly, AI was at the core of all of the finalists’ products, even those in the Education category. Congratulations to the category winners younivers app and aisencia. Flix Founder and CEO André Schwämmlein gave a standout talk. His key insight was that: “Internationalisation is key. We knew there would be no German market leader. In the digital world, there are either European or global market leaders, but certainly no national ones.“ The only exceptions here are China, where there is little overlap due to strict controls and protectionism, and Russia, where Flix no longer operates since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. André’s hypothesis is borne out by Flix’s success, which now operates in 43 markets and serves over 60M yearly travellers. This insight also underpins Deep’s strategy and explains why we developed an omni-lingual NLP AI. With DeepNews, for example, this unlocks a global market of 2.5B people. Nils Noermann and Maximilian Jesch from IBM gave an insightful talk about the generative AI solution IBM watsonx. Interestingly, IBM is the first in Germany to have implemented a company agreement on AI. Encouraging the audience to implement AI thoughtfully, instead of getting swept along with the current trend, Nils and Maximilian pointed to the historical example of email. Instead of reducing people’s workload, this tool dramatically increased the number of messages sent and created an expectation of swift responses. We need to guard against something similar happening with AI, and instead implement this in a way that creates trust and real added value. One of the cool things about attending conferences is the element of unpredictability, randomly stumbling across talks you otherwise wouldn’t have encountered. Stephan Schwinger’s live demo of LLM Prompt Injections was a great example of this. It was fascinating to see how easily Stephan wrested control over the LLM, underscoring the importance of cybersecurity protocols, especially given the widespread adoption of LLMs in software products. Congratulations to the team at Bitkom for putting together an outstanding conference.
