At last week’s ILA trade fair, Data Machine Intelligence joined the ranks of Germany’s top aerospace and defense companies. As a member of the Military Support Center, our co-founder Max Najork was invited to open the fair alongside Chancellor Olaf Scholz and industry leaders.

🤝 Data Machine Intelligence and HENSOLDT Sign MoU to Explore Advanced AI Development and Mission Simulation Opportunities 📝 We are very happy to announce that Data Machine Intelligence (DMI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hensoldt, a global leader in defense and security electronics. This strategic collaboration aims to explore novel simulation capabilities for the fast and safe engineering of AI-enabled systems in safety-critical environments. 🌟 European Commission Delegation Visits DMI at ILA 2024 to Discuss AI Development 🌟 We at Data Machine Intelligence were honored to host Mr. François Arbault, Director for Defence Industry at the European Commission, and Ms. Sylvia Kainz-Huber, Head of Unit for EDF programs, at our booth during ILA Berlin - Pioneering Aerospace. This visit allowed us to discuss in person how startups like Data Machine Intelligence can best support EDF projects. It was encouraging to see the genuine interest and commitment from Mr. Arbault and Ms. Kainz-Huber in including startups and enabling them to take on more responsibilities. Their visit highlights the importance of Safe AI development for the current round of EDF calls. With our DMI Labs platform, designed for end-to-end development of Safe AI systems, we can significantly contribute. Our platform facilitates comprehensive AI training, virtual integration, simulation of AI-enabled systems-of-systems, performance assessment, and interface development to optimize collaboration with human operators. A notable moment was Mr. Arbault personally trying our platform in our cockpit simulator. He successfully completed a search and rescue mission, partnering with unmanned systems to locate a ship in distress. Well done, Mr. Arbault! This visit has been a great motivator for our team and confirms Data Machine Intelligence's strong positioning as an enabler for the European aerospace and defense industry, accelerating the safe integration of AI into systems. 𝗔𝗶𝗿𝗯𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗠𝗜 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗱 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗔𝗜𝗗 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝗜𝗟𝗔 At the ILA Trade Fair, Airbus Defence and Space and Data Machine Intelligence announced the launch of the third phase of the Ethical AI Demonstrator (EAID) project. The demonstrator utilizes DMI's advanced simulation and engineering platform, positioning it at the heart of the initiative. The project allows stakeholders from politics, industry, research institutions, and military to experience AI applications in defense, helping to inform and create guidelines for ethical and safe AI development. As we start this next phase, key contributors to the EAID project share their perspectives: Thomas Grohs, Head of Future Capabilities at Airbus Defence and Space: "DMI’s simulation technology has enabled our engineers to rapidly prototype AI use cases for FCAS. This allows us to quickly assess their operational impact and identify areas for improvement in operator trust. We look forward to further enhancing the engineering and trustworthiness of AI components with DMI’s development and simulation platform." Dr. Florian Keisinger, Campaign Director Future Combat Air Systems (FCAS) at Airbus Defence and Space: "With the Ethical AI Demonstrator developed jointly with Fraunhofer FKIE and DMI, we've significantly improved our ability to engage with customers, policymakers, and public opinion influencers. This not only helps us to de-risk regulatory compliance but also supports public acceptance and underlines Airbus’ proactive role in using AI safely and responsibly.
