#SmartTachograph DTCO 4.1 🚌 📟 From now on, a second-generation Smart Tachograph must be installed in all newly registered buses, coaches and trucks used in cross-border passenger and freight transport in the European Union. Our #MercedesBenz eCitaro fuel cell offers a locally emission-free solution for sustainable and efficient mobility in the city. 🚌🔋 The combination of battery-electric drive with fuel cell for range extension enables a range of up to 400 km without recharging for average requirements. In the bus, the fuel cell is not used as the main power source, but only to extend the range. #DidYouKnow? Inventive spirit meets rational production methods!   Did you know? #Setra caused a sensation at the 1959 International Motor Show. The exhibited Setra S 9, S 10, and S 11 buses were designed using the new modular system. This meant that the buses consisted of 80% identical parts. 🚌📏🤝   The differences in this rational production method were mainly in the engines, transmissions, tires, and axles.    Spare parts management was also simplified, increasing the cost-effectiveness of the fleet. For more insight and understanding behind the wheel: The OMNIplus ExpertHandling Training teaches correct use of assistance systems! 🚍   Real professionals never stop learning – which is why comprehensive training is so important. Andreas Hirsch, Managing Director of Hirsch Reisen GmbH, knows this too.   The company completely replaced its fleet of four Setra ComfortClass S 515 HD vehicles with next-generation models. To help his drivers make the most of the new generation of Setra touring coaches, Hirsch booked the ExpertHandling Training with OMNIplus. 🙌   Nils Ungericht, former DriverTraining Coordinator at OMNIplus and now manager of the Daimler Buses Service Center in Herrenberg, focuses on assistance systems such as Active Brake Assist 5 and Active Drive Assist 2 in the theoretical part. In the practical part, the drivers then get hands-on experience with these systems in real driving situations.   Our training not only brings drivers up to date, but also fulfills the legal requirements of the German Professional Driver Qualification Act (BKrFQG). 🙌   When will you experience our training? School traffic? Cross-country routes? And transportation in a thinly populated region? VLP seizes the opportunity: Every weekday, pupils in rural Ludwigslust-Parchim take the Mercedes-Benz #eCitaro to school. 🏫🚌 No fewer than 172 routes are served by the buses of the local transport company VLP. Their passenger transport covers the second-largest district in Germany, located in the south of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. In total, VLP has 200 buses, including 45 fully electric eCitaro. "Wherever typical school transport in rural areas is involved, the use of electric buses is ideal," says VLP Managing Director Stefan Lösel. Why? Equipped with Wi-Fi, USB ports, and two-point seat belts for all passengers, the eCitaro buses prove that they can be effectively used on regional routes.
