LifeTec's Cardiac BioSimulator was instrumental in the development of CoreMedic's novel transcatheter device for mitral valve repair, the ChordArt. The simulator's realistic setting, including the use of real hearts, clinical imaging techniques, and haptic feedback, allowed CoreMedic to evaluate each iteration of the device efficiently and cost-effectively. This partnership between LifeTec and CoreMedic resulted in a successful first clinical implantation of the ChordArt device, which treats primary mitral valve regurgitation.
