The startup ecosystem in Kigali serves as a compelling proof of concept, rivaling international counterparts with its vibrant energy and groundbreaking ideas. The true essence lies in Rwanda's greatest asset - its people. As Victor Nkindi highlighted during our Berlin meets Kigali event at the Westerwelle Foundation, "Rwanda is the kitchen, and Africa the restaurant." Being here feels like stepping into a glimpse of Afrofuturism. Moreover, our visit to the The African Leadership University showcased Kigali's evolution into a hub for talented professionals from over 30 nations, competing globally and contributing to major companies like Google, Netflix, Meta, and more. At the Rwanda Development Board (RDB), we gained insights into the government's initiatives supporting young professionals, facilitating their integration into the job market. Europa trifft Afrika in #Ruanda   ✈ Die Organisation NextAfrica organisiert regelmäßig „Learning Journeys" in afrikanische Länder. Auch unser CEO Roland Tscheinig nahm an einer dieser Reisen teil, und zwar nach Kigali/Ruanda.   Zusammen mit anderen Unternehmer:innen, CEOs und CIOs besuchte die Gruppe verschiedene Firmen und Start-Ups um mehr über Business in Afrika zu erfahren. Zwei Firmen - BioMassters und Irembo - beschreibt er in unserem Interview näher.   Ruanda hat eine schmerzhafte Vergangenheit, die durch den Genozid von 1994 geprägt ist und Schätzungen zufolge den tragischen Verlust von bis zu einer Million Menschenleben zur Folge hatte. Doch erstaunlicherweise hat sich das Land in nur 29 Jahren zu einem Ort des Optimismus entwickelt, vor allem durch den engagierten "Spirit" der jungen Generation.   „Man spürt generell, dass die Menschen etwas verändern wollen und den Willen haben, dies auch zu tun“, sagt Roland und fügt hinzu, dass er die Initiative „Our Past“ eines jungen Mannes, Christian INTWARI, unterstützt.   Nach vier Tagen offiziellen Programms hatte Roland auch ein privates Treffen mit unserem Kollegen Kagabo Faustin, der seit eineinhalb Jahren über die Firma „Code of Africa“ für OBJENTIS aus Ruanda remote arbeitet.     Um mehr über Rolands Reise nach Kigali zu erfahren, lesen Sie das gesamte Interview. #africa #rwandanetworking #sustainabledevelopment #innovationrwanda #successinrwanda #ourpast
