Wir freuen uns, den Start unseres neuen #RealiseBio Projekts „Developing a 100% plant based and circular Furniture“ bekannt zu geben! 🌱 Zusammen mit unserem niederländischen Partner SAM Panels aus Venlo entwickeln wir ein innovatives, vollständig biobasiertes, modulares Möbelsystem. Unser Ziel ist es, den Möbelmarkt durch nachhaltige und ästhetische Produkte zu revolutionieren, die aus natürlichen, regionalen Materialien und lokalen Bio-Reststoffen hergestellt werden. Im Rahmen des Interreg Deutschland-Nederland Projekts fördert RealiseBio eine zirkuläre Bioökonomie zur Verwertung von Bio-Reststoffen in den Grenzgebieten. Die Ziele des Projektes sind die Entwicklung eines 100% biobasierten modularen Möbelsystems nach einem Cradle to Cradle-Produktdesign für zirkuläres Wirtschaften. Daher fokussieren wir den Aufbau von Materialkreisläufen innerhalb der Technosphäre und Biosphäre, um eine vollständige End-of-Life-Kompostierbarkeit der Möbel zu gewährleisten. Hierfür produziert SAM Panels nachhaltige Faserplatten aus Gras, Hanfstaub und anderen landwirtschaftlichen Restströmen, für welche wir neue biobasierte Verbindungskonstruktionen entwickeln, sowie biobasierte Oberflächenbeschichtungen testen und in der Langzeitanwendung prüfen. Wir sind begeistert, über den Austausch mit vielen großartigen Partnern innerhalb des Realise-Bio Netzwerks! 🚀 --english version-- We are excited to announce the launch of our new #RealiseBio project "Developing a 100% plant based and circular Furniture"! 🌱 Together with our Dutch partner SAM Panels from Venlo, we are developing an innovative, fully bio-based, modular furniture system. Our goal is to revolutionise the furniture market with sustainable and aesthetic products made from natural, regional materials and local organic residues. This project is supported by Interreg Deutschland-Nederland project, RealiseBio promotes a circular bioeconomy for the utilisation of bio-residues in border regions. The goals of the project are to develop a 100% bio-based modular furniture system according to a cradle to cradle product design for circular economy. Therefore, we focus on building material cycles within the technosphere and biosphere to ensure complete end-of-life compostability of the furniture. To this end, SAM Panels produces sustainable fibreboards from grass, hemp dust and other agricultural waste streams, for which we test new bio-based surface coatings and finishes in long-term applications. Biodegradable banana bunch covers: Did you know that the annual volume of plastic bunch covers for banana growing could be wrapped around the world 40 times? Every year! And that many of these plastics end up in the environment or are sometimes even burnt in the open? We are happy to announce that after successful field trials with biodegradable plastics for banana covers, we are scaling up now, hoping to make the banana value chain more circular. Naturally, we will continue recycling the plastics after use, like we already did! We zijn verheugd om de lancering aan te kondigen van ons nieuwe #RealiseBio project "Het ontwikkelen van 100% plantaardig en circulair Meubilair"! 🌱 Samen met onze Duitse partner CoFurniture uit Münster ontwikkelen we een innovatief, volledig biogebaseerd, modulair meubelsysteem. Ons doel is om een revolutie teweeg te brengen op de meubelmarkt met duurzame en esthetische producten gemaakt van natuurlijke, regionale materialen en lokaal organisch afval. Dit project wordt mede gefinancierd door Interreg Deutschland-Nederland. RealiseBio promoot een circulaire bio-economie voor het gebruik van bioafval in de grensregio's. Het doel van het project is om een 100% biogebaseerd modulair meubelsysteem te ontwikkelen volgens een cradle to cradle productontwerp voor de circulaire economie. Daarom richten we ons op het bouwen van materiaalcycli binnen de technosfeer en biosfeer om volledige composteerbaarheid van het meubilair aan het einde van de levenscyclus te garanderen. Hiertoe produceren wij duurzame vezelplaten van gras, hennepstof en andere agrarische afvalstromen, waarvoor we nieuwe biogebaseerde oppervlaktecoatings en afwerkingen testen in langdurige toepassingen. Vernetzung für eine erfolgreiche Zukunft! Eine neue BioBall-Podcastfolge! Diesmal mit der BluCon Biotech GmbH und dem CLIB - Cluster Industrielle Biotechnologie 🎧 Auf unerwartete Hürden trifft fast jedes Start-Up - In dieser Folge beleuchten wir, wie ein Cluster dazu beitragen kann, diese Hürden zu überwinden und wie wichtig Start-Ups im Netzwerk von Clustern sind. Dafür dürfen wir zwei Gäste begrüßen: Albrecht Läufer (Geschäftsführer von BluCon Biotech) und Dennis Herzberg (Clustermanager beim CLIB). Gemeinsam widmen wir uns der zirkulären #Bioökonomie und der Nutzung nachwachsender Rohstoffe als Basis für #nachhaltig produzierte Kunststoffe.
