For the transformation from a linear to a circular economy, cooperation between business, science, politics and the civil society is crucial. Cooperation between established companies and startups, but also among companies as such. Along existing value chains, across them, and beyond geographical borders.   We have made it our mission to connect the relevant stakeholders.   This will be evident at the Circular Valley Forum 2024 on November 15 at Historische Stadthalle Wuppertal. The event with key players from all fields will also focus on the cooperation projects we were able to initiate thanks to our partners. Cooperation projects in Chemicals, Batteries, Building Material, Automotive and Water.   They overcome national borders, specifically, between Germany and Belgium. At this year's Circular Valley Forum on November 15, we will welcome renowned artist HA Schult, a pioneer in using art to raise awareness about ecological imbalances since the 1960s. His message: Awareness alone isn't enough. Action is what counts. Schult will present his "Save The World Hotel" – an impressive installation made entirely from beach waste like plastic bottles, tires, and even exhaust pipes. The exact nature of the presentation remains a mystery, but one thing is certain: it will be a powerful reminder of why we must rethink our approach to waste and sustainability. The representatives of the startups that make up Batch 7 of our Circular Economy Accelerator program are here! We're excited to spend the next two months working with so many passionate people from literally all over the world - more specifically, from six of the seven continents! (Sorry, Antarctica, maybe next time!) The introductory session was all about the details of the upcoming program and getting to know each other. The teams pitched their respective business models and received feedback from their peers. The program continued with a workshop on the topic of circular design, held by Bas Roelofs of CIRCO. The young entrepreneurs took an in-depth look at their respective business models and explored how to think out of the box and find new ways to create and improve their solutions for a circular economy. Yesterday, our founder Carsten Gerhardt had the honor of accepting the award "Bergischer Zukunftspreis" for Circular Valley. It was given in recognition of the commitment to bringing together civil society, business and politics to work together for the benefit of society as a whole. The duration of this commitment, which began with the initiation and construction of the 23-km-long Nordbahntrasse in 2006, was also recognized.
