Stats & Facts CharIN Conference & Testival EUROPE Poland 2024: × Over 470 attendees at the CharIN Conference & CharIN Testival: × The biggest CharIN Conference & Testival in history so far. × Over 270 attendees of the CharIN Conference × Over 200 attendees of the CharIN Testival × 34 highly renowned electric mobility speakers and panelists at the CharIN Conference × 30 different testing electric mobility companies at the CharIN Testival × 10 Test slots, 2 of them with dynamic pairing option – where participating companies could choose test partners. × 6 electric trucks, 9 electric cars, 14 charging stations, 4 test systems: 6 electric trucks, the highest number of heavy-duty vehicles we ever had at a Testival. This is not the end of a journey.... ⚡🏁 ... this was just another route section of our common path to greener mobility and energy. Standardization and collaboration are our pillars to keep high speed by staying on track. This was a fantastic CharIN Testival NORTH AMERICA, co-organized and supported by Lincoln Electric, our fabulous host. 🔋 New technical features at this Testival: ⚡Multi-PKI Testing: Every vehicle with multiple PKIs to test had the opportunity to test on different charging stations. So they could see if the charging process was successful. This feature was adopted very well, and after a few modifications, the test did work pretty well. ⚡Online-PKI: Together organized with Hubject, charging stations were directly linked to the backend. Before that, we only had an offline PKI to focus on the interface between the vehicle and the charging station. With the Online PKI, tests are now closer to reality, and end-to-end testing is also possible by using online PKI. ⚡First products with ISO 15118-20 implementations were onsite to test the new protocol. Thanks to our testers and observers for the collaborative mindset and your trust in each other. Testing companies like Volvo Cars, do not just drive cars; they drive innovation. Hossein Soleimani, from Volvo Cars, summarized his impressions of the Testival pretty well: "Volvo Cars was represented at most of the Testivals. We try to participate every single time. Especially this time, since this is the first time Volvo is presented in the US. It's a perfect test opportunity for EVs, our internal projects, interoperability testing, and compatibility of different EVSEs. We are pleased about the collaboration between the teams, which has helped locate interoperability issues and make future contacts. Hubject granted outstanding support for testing Plug&Charge. Besides the testing experience, the CharIN evening event, which included time out and good food, was so much fun. We appreciated we had the opportunity to be part of this event." Day 2 of the CharIN Testival NORTH AMERICA 2024 After an eventful day of testing on the premises of our host, Lincoln Electric, all participants, testers and observers, were invited to the CharIN evening event with delicious food, fun games, and a wonderful view of sunny and warm Cleveland from the roof terrace of the "Punch Bowl Social." We would like to take this opportunity to thank our Conference & Testival Media Sponsor, ZEROVA Technologies, for making it possible for us to take extensive photo and video recordings. CharIN North America endorses the SAE Industry Technologies Consortia EVPKI Consortium ✅ The EVPKI Consortium is an industry-led program within SAE Industry Technologies Consortia. It aims to create and manage an inclusive framework for secure digital trust across the e-mobility PKI ecosystem to accelerate electric vehicle (EV) adoption and optimize the user experience. The Consortium is committed to creating and supporting an interoperable PKI solution for the entire EV industry. "The EVPKI Consortium will implement an interoperable, protocol-neutral PKI solution and create an open, competitive PKI marketplace to ensure an efficient, high security, and economical PKI solution at scale. We are pleased to have the backing of CharIN and look forward to announcing new members as well as the launch of our PKI marketplace in the near future.", said Michael Westra, EVPKI Consortium Chair, Ford Motor Company.
