🆕💡𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗨𝗡 𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺-𝗪𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. This Strategy responds to the United Nations General Assembly Resolution 77/334, dated September 14, 2023, which requested the Secretary-General to present a Strategy for the entire United Nations system on water and sanitation. It was launched at the fourth annual special event on #SDG6, on July 16, 2024, held within the framework of the UN High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF). 🔹 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁? Currently, there are too many agencies and institutions with responsibilities in #water and #sanitation, but the lack of coordination and communication between them makes the system inefficient, and resources are not being fully utilized, resulting in outcomes below expectations. 🎯 The Strategy aims to optimize resources and efforts to accelerate progress towards achieving SDG 6, improving the coordination and execution of water and sanitation priorities across the United Nations system, and supporting countries in their efforts to accelerate progress on national plans, goals, and international targets. 🔹 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 1️⃣ Lead and inspire collective action on water and sanitation. 2️⃣ Engage better in supporting countries by leveraging the entire United Nations system's support and mobilizing stakeholders and partnerships in water and sanitation. 3️⃣ Align UN system support to integrate water and sanitation issues across all sectors and incorporate them into intergovernmental processes. 4️⃣ Accelerate progress and transformative change by unifying UN system support through the five global accelerators of SDG. 5️⃣ Report on progress through joint review and learning. 𝗢𝘂𝘁-𝘁𝗼-𝗜𝗻 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Our single ceramic plate features a filter active layer on the outside of the membrane. During the filtration process, suspended solids are rejected on the membrane surface, forming a cake layer. Clean water passes through the membrane body and is collected at both end caps, ensuring high-quality filtration and minimal contamination. 𝟮. 𝗜𝗻-𝘁𝗼-𝗢𝘂𝘁 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘄𝗮𝘀𝗵: To maintain optimal performance, we use a reversed flow direction for backwashing. A very small amount of filtered water is used to backwash the membrane, effectively removing the formed cake layer within seconds. This process can be further enhanced with air-scouring, ensuring that the cake layer comes off in flakes, keeping the membrane clean and efficient.
