With daytime temperatures often soaring into the triple digits, California almond farmers are focused on limiting water stress on their orchards as they prepare for harvest. Nighttime irrigations can help to reduce evaporation. Using low volume systems such as drip or micro-sprinklers that place the water in the best position for uptake also increases efficiency. 𝐏𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚 Approximately 60% of the harvest is now completed. Initially, a total crop volume of 32,000 mt of in-shell nuts were projected. Now, the actual output is expected to be slightly lower, in the range of 28,000 to 29,000 mt. This still marks a significant improvement from last year's production of around 21,000 mt. Overall, the market outlook is positive, with better yields and quality than the previous year. We look forward to seeing how the season progresses!
