Professionals from the pharmaceutical industry, primary packaging and device suppliers, and academia gathered at our recent APV - International Association for Pharmaceutical Technology workshop on Drug-Device Combination Products (DDCPs) for parenteral use at Novartis Campus in Basel to discuss the latest trends and challenges in this dynamic field. It was inspiring to see such a diverse and dedicated group passionate about innovating and sharing knowledge. The workshop was alive with discussions on critical topics including large volume administration, standardization and platforming, sustainability, and collaborative efforts between suppliers and #pharmaceutical companies, as well as across the broader industry landscape. Participants engaged deeply with a spectrum of challenges inherent to Drug-Device Combination Products (DDCPs), from addressing coating stability and needle-clogging to navigating regulatory hurdles, particle issues, and analytical complexities. A highlight of the event were the insightful panel sessions focused on patient-centric approaches and emerging trends and challenges as viewed through the lenses of device and primary packaging suppliers. Networking breaks provided invaluable opportunities for attendees to explore cutting-edge innovations showcased by suppliers and actively participate in the poster session. We're excited about the future of Drug-Device Combination Products, driven by the momentum and insights gained from this collaborative event. The workshop underscored the increasing role of ongoing collaboration and continuous learning in shaping the trajectory of our industry. APV - International Association for Pharmaceutical Technology executive board meeting with focus group haeds and heads of APV local groups in Bensheim from 21 to 22 June 2024 The APV Executive Board met with the heads of the focus groups and the heads of the local groups to discuss current developments and plans for future projects. It was particularly pleasing to see so many local group leaders in attendance to enable a wide-ranging and lively exchange.
