Welcome Remo Mahler - exciting times ahead!
I’m thrilled to share that I’ve joined Angel Invest, Europe’s most active superangel fund, founded by Jens Lapinski and Oliver Clasen. Angel Invest has backed some incredible companies like CoachHub - The digital coaching platform, Usercentrics, Rasa, MindsDB and many, many more across a variety of sectors. I first met Jens around 5 years ago, and I've been consistently impressed by what he and the team have built over the years. Their track record of investing in and supporting visionary founders speaks for itself, and when Jens asked me to join, it was an easy decision :). I’ll be joining John to focus on later-stage investments, supporting our most promising portfolio companies as they scale and grow. How would you like to have visibility on more than 550 fund managers / venture capital funds actively investing across Europe? Across early and growth stage? No strings attached? See below.. Last year, I launched a side-project showcasing the top 80 funds in Europe (& their investment teams) investing in UK pre-Seed and Seed stage startups. After working for and with accelerators since 2016, I wanted to support the many founders I have worked with in acquiring better visibility on which funds they should be approaching (& how - one for a separate discussion). This year, teaming up with Jens Lapinski, Jag Singh and Angel Invest, we’ve now mapped out 550 fund managers / venture capital funds actively investing across Europe – with a whole lot of extra data that you can gain value from. This includes: 🚀 Investment focus – The sectors/verticals/business models they invest in. 🚀 Stage – The stage/s they invest in & distribution % of first check investments by stage over the last five years, according to CB. 🚀 Geo – The geo’s they invest in & distribution % of first check investments by geo over the last five years, according to CB. 🚀 Portfolio construction – The number of funds, when they closed their latest fund, size of that fund, investment range, number of companies they intend to invest in (with that fund), as well as how much reserve % they have for follow-on investments. We believe it will be incredibly valuable to multiple different people in the startup and venture capital ecosystem. To founders, when raising investment and building out their investor pipelines. To venture capital teams, when supporting your portfolio companies raise OR for visibility of funds actively investing across Europe. To angel investors, when supporting your portfolio founders raise their next round. To start-up service providers, there are many ways you can leverage this.
