📌 Today at 2:25 pm (UTC-7), 5GAA Board member James (Jim) Misener will join the #ADAS and Autonomous Vehicle Technology Expo California in San Jose, which unites top experts in #autonomousvehicle research, AI, software, sensor fusion, AV testing, validation, development, standards, and safety. In his presentation on "The 5GAA roadmap for advanced driving: connectivity as a linchpin," Jim will discuss how #connectivity technologies can meaningfully support advanced driver assistance systems (#ADAS) worldwide. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn the immediate and near-term benefits of vehicles equipped with 5G modems and gain insight into the regulatory and standards headwinds to overcome. 💡 5GAA is always proud to contribute to the discussions shaping the future of connectivity on our roads.

In less than one month, 5GAA's Director General Johannes Springer will take part in IAA TRANSPORTATION 2024 in Hanover, the leading platform for buses, logistics, commercial vehicles, and the transport sector. With the slogan “People and Goods on the Move,” the main topics on the table will be #sustainability, infrastructure, and technology. 📃 Have you read our latest white paper, '5G-V2X Direct Communication Evaluation Approach: An #Automotive Analysis'? #5GV2X technology, including the new direct communications radio technology (or NR V2X), is moving toward deployment – starting in Europe with consensus among automotive OEMs, suppliers, and vendors. #ICYMI Last week marked a significant step forward in our journey toward safer roads, with the unveiling of a 'long-awaited plan to prevent highway deaths' - as Forbes reports 👇 #V2X, which enables vehicles to communicate with each other and surrounding infrastructure, has the potential to eliminate highway fatalities—almost 40,000 of which occurred in the U.S. just last year. USDOT's updated national plan, titled “Saving Lives with Connectivity: A Plan to Accelerate V2X Deployment”, sets several short, medium and long-term goals. For 2024-2028, it aims to achieve: 🚧 20% of the national highway system equipped with V2X 📶 20 grants in at least 10 states utilising the 5.895-5.925 GHz band 🛡️ 12 interoperable, cybersecure deployments As V2X becomes a reality across more of our roadways, we're not just reducing congestion; we're saving lives. 🔎Have you seen the latest C-V2X and CVIS Industry Research Report? According to the publisher's statistics, more than 270,000 Chinese passenger cars were equipped by OEMs with #CV2X in 2023. This year, China has launched the 2024-2026 pilot application of 'vehicle-road-cloud integration' of intelligent #connectedvehicles, aiming to increase vehicle #connectivity rates. 💬 'It is expected that large-scale installation will occur from 2026 to 2027, with optimistic predictions that the OEM installation rate can exceed 9%.'
