😎 The Best Summer Job EVER: A Recap 💼 We’re excited to share the highlights from this year's most incredible summer job experience. Our ECD, Jim Thornton, recently sat down with Creative Salon Worldwide to discuss how the VCCP Stoke Academy emerging talent scheme, ‘The Best Summer Job Ever’ is paving the way for young people to explore careers in advertising. 🏙️ Jim emphasised the initiative's primary goal: making the industry as accessible as possible. Jim said, “Our driving North Star is to get as many youngsters to believe that there is a job for them in this industry and that they might not need to leave home and travel to the big cities to get it.” 🎨 During this year's four-week placement, a diverse group of students from the class of 2024 presented their creative and strategic pitches to Kirstie Hawkins, Head of Marketing at Charlie Bigham's | B Corp. Kristie noted, "It's the kind of thing we're always keen to be involved in. It's a great opportunity for them, and it's really nice for a brand like ours to hear young people's perspectives”. Celebrating one year of faith! 🤖 To mark the occasion, we’ve released an animated short film 'finding faith', made using Gen-AI to celebrate its first birthday. 🌳 Created as a way to explore the practical uses of generative video for brands today, the brand film adheres to a consistent brand world. The faith team decided on the project as a way of “demonstrating the craft it takes to control AI to meet our creative standards, instead of letting AI control how much we lowered them”. 🎨 faith chose to work with their own brand world with their characters ‘girl’ and ‘robot’ (representing humanity and Gen-AI) featuring in an animated origin story which illustrates their founding idea that AI when used properly will serve as an accelerator of human creativity. ⛰️ The story captures the moment a young girl overcomes her initial fear of the robot to form a friendship and takes place within a rich landscape, inspired by anime films. Everything within the film, from storyboards to scripts, animation and music was created using more than 15 different AI tools. 🎥 Watch how we navigate the exciting yet challenging world of generative video, bringing our brand story to life to celebrate faith’s first birthday. Behind-the-scenes on our new campaign with Co-op ‘Owned By You, Right By You’ 🎬 Created using stop motion with printed till receipts, our hero 60” campaign tells the story of Co-op’s beginnings, posing the question of - if you were inventing a business today, how you would create the perfect business. And in doing that, how Co-op does business differently. Mel Matson, Marketing Director Food & Masterbrand at Co-op explained the thinking behind the ‘Owned By You, Right By You’ slogan, how they set out to reintroduce its activist spirit, and why its membership model was at the core of their message. We also heard from our Executive Creative Director at VCCP London Chris Birch who masterminded the campaign alongside Jonathan Parker. He explains how they approached the challenge of re-introducing the brand to the nation, by breaking the mould of traditional grocery ads and engaging consumers. “If You Were Inventing A Business Today, You’d Invent Co-op” 🧾 We are incredibly proud to launch Co-op’s new brand platform, ‘Owned By You. Right By You.’ Created by VCCP London and centered around Co-op’s membership model, our campaign aims to remind the public of the brand’s origins and values. ✨ As the world’s first successful consumer co-operative at 180 years old, our new brand proposition highlights Co-op’s membership model as its unique value. By reminding people that as the Co-op is owned by its members, the public, it can do right by people; it restates Co-op’s economic value - lowering prices on the things people actually buy - and its social value, investing in communities, schools and neighbourhoods. 🎨 Using stop-motion craft to tell Co-op’s story, we created a 60” hero film that breaks the mould of traditional grocery ads and engaging consumers. With printed till receipts, the work drives the message: "If you were inventing a business today, you’d do right by people… all people" with a voiceover by Michael Socha. 📺 We’re excited to see the new brand platform extending across D/OOH, press, radio, social and digital channels from today.
