Over 110 different water brands from 37 countries participated in the Taste & Design Awards 2024, held at the reputable Basque Culinary Center in Donostia, San-Sebastian. Balbin is proud to belong to the Fine Water Category, representing a community of high quality, unprocessed waters with a distinct terroir and story to tell. Clean water is #liquidgold This is one of my main takeaways from day 1 of the 9th International Bled Water Festival , in which a prominent topic of discussion was #chemicals in #water 🧪🚰🦠 Microplastics, pharmaceuticals, pesticides and other contaminants are findings their ways into both tap and bottled waters. How do they get there? What are their impacts on human health? What solutions do we have for ensuring quality drinking water? These are just a few of the questions expert panelists provided knowledge on. The Balbín spring, the origin of #Balbinwater, is located in a deep artesian lake within the second largest city of Czech Republic. Hydrogeologist Tomáš Kuchovský from Masaryk University describes this underground lake as a massive aquarium filled with sand, sealed by an impermeable clay layer, safeguarding the water from pollutants and contamination. The geological formation dates back millions of years, when Brno resembled a valley akin to the Grand Canyon🏜️. Today, this historical valley is filled with artesian water continuously replenished and purified by rocks.
