Dramodydd poblogaidd, bardd a chynhyrchydd dramâu o Norwy oedd Henrik Ibsen (20 Mawrth 1828 - 23 Mai 1906), a aned yn Skien, Telemark. Fe'i ystyrir yn dad Realaeth (yn yr ystyr theatraidd y 19g), ac felly'n dad y Ddrama fodern.[1] Ymhlith ei weithiau gorau y mae: Brand, Peer Gynt, An Enemy of the People, Emperor and Galilean, A Doll's House, Hedda Gabler, Ghosts, The Wild Duck, Rosmersholm, a The Master Builder. Perfformiwr ei waith yn amlach nag unrhyw ddramodwr arall yn y byd, ar ôl Shakespeare,[2][3] a daeth A Doll's House i fod y ddrama a berfformiwyd amlaf erbyn dechrau'r 20g.[4]
Gwthiodd Ibsen y ffiniau o ran moesoldeb, ac yn y ddrama Peer Gynt, gwelir elefennau o swrealaeth. Dylanwadodd yn gryf ar ddramodwyr a nofelwyr megis: George Bernard Shaw, Oscar Wilde, Arthur Miller, James Joyce, Eugene O'Neill a Miroslav Krleža.
