As the Project Manager of the YoungShip IMO, it was a privilege to attend the Brussels Conference on the Wellbeing of Seafarers as a delegate. Thank you once again for the kind invitation from the Belgian Presidency of the Council of European Union. One of the key themes resonating throughout the discussions was the pressing issue of the lack of skilled workforce. At YoungShip, we recognize the importance of nurturing young talent and contributing to the ongoing efforts of IMO. Our unique perspective allows us to highlight the value that young professionals bring to the industry, attracting fresh ideas and innovation. We are proud to play a part in shaping the future of the maritime sector, advocating for the wellbeing of seafarers and promoting sustainability. Our involvement extends beyond representing seafarers; we stand for engineers, lawyers, architects, students, and all professionals dedicated to this vital industry. Huge congratulations to all the remarkable individuals who contributed to the conference, among them Keshia J., President of YoungShip Belgium and YoungShip International. It was wonderful to reconnect with friends and colleagues, including Sanjam Sahi Gupta, Justyna Nawrot, WISTA International representatives, and International Maritime Organization MS representatives together with YoungShip International delagates, Mohammed Nizar Poovanmadathil, Kellieann Hukins, and Philippe Van Dijck. A heartfelt mention goes to Luisa Burgess whose closing remarks perfectly encapsulated the significance of the day. Together, let's continue striving for a sustainable and dynamic maritime industry.🚢
