The Future Media (Forbes Cyprus Women in Tech) recently interrogated 😅 me as part of their Leader’s Insights series, where they ask the simplest, yet most interesting questions. I often find myself giving out interviews and answering the same typical questions, but this one made me pause, think, and even laugh. I talked about the highs and lows of entrepreneurship 🚀 , sharing memories of my first days in the startup world. There isn’t an official first day at work as most people might imagine, but I vividly remember our adventures in so many local coffee ☕ shops we used as offices with my co-founders. When asked about a talent I would like to have, I had no clue what to pick… I realized I’d love to have a decent singing voice, though I never thought seriously about it 🎤 🎶 . I shared how Anne Frank’s story captivated me as a child. Despite the unimaginable hardships she faced, Anne’s optimism and determination to turn negative experiences into positive reflections taught me the importance of hope and perseverance. I still think of her during so many difficult times that we face. On the literary front, I mentioned how my friend of 20 years, Philippos Aristotelous, unexpectedly wrote a book filled with the continuous life/work advice and discussions we’ve had, which has become a useful tool in my life 📖. 💫 Oncology Professional Care 2024 at ExCeL London has come to a close, and what an incredible event it was! I had the pleasure of engaging in insightful conversations with oncology healthcare professionals and experts over the past two days. I am eager to follow up on these discussions in the coming weeks. It was also a privilege to meet with various #charities to discuss collaborations aimed at raising #awareness, improving #access to advanced #therapies, and better supporting those undergoing #treatment. Some highlights from the event include: ➡ Connecting with the team from The Swallows Charity Head and Neck Support Group and hearing Chris Curtis’s inspiring talk. ➡ Being captivated by discussions on Integrative Oncology led by Dr Penny Kechagioglou and Dr Nina Fuller-Shavel, alongside Jayne Brumpton, who shared real patient stories emphasizing the powerful role of integration in cancer care. ➡ Engaging in meaningful discussions with Maria Vega and the team at LloydsPharmacy Clinical Homecare about delivering a patient-centered treatment experience. ➡ Meeting the amazing Helene (Robe ) Williams from King's College London and exchanging meaningful ideas on creating societal impact. ➡ Witnessing the outstanding efforts of our team—Maria Ioannou, Anna Christofini, and Dr Chrystalla Charalambous—in educating healthcare professionals about our oncology skincare solutions at RSL Revolutionary Labs Ltd. After years of focusing on cancer research and treatment, it’s heartening to see scientific advances translating into improved patient outcomes. Today, cancer patients often live with their condition chronically, underscoring the importance of enhancing the quality of life for those affected—almost one in two people. The shift towards complete care is gaining momentum, with community members and solution providers collectively transforming the oncology care landscape. And of course, it’s always a pleasure to be in London, a city that never fails to inspire with its vibrant energy and rich history. I look forward to returning next year!
