English: BAY OF BISCAY, 1943-07-30. TWO GERMAN SUBMARINES TAKING EVASIVE ACTION DURING AN ATTACK. THE TYPE XIV SUBMARINE TANKERS, U-461 AND U-462, ARE BEING ATTACKED BY SUNDERLAND "U" OF NO. 461 SQUADRON RAAF, HALIFAX "B" OF NO. 502 SQUADRON RAF AND LIBERATOR "O" OF NO. 53 SQUADRON RAF. THESE TWO U-BOATS WERE SUNK IN THIS ACTION, ALONG WITH U-502. THE PHOTOGRAPH WAS TAKEN FROM SUNDERLAND "U"
